Civil rights worked, they really worked. Its like a blessing from God, if there is one. Its like inventing the flower. Their work, sweat and tears paid off. Their marching, their being jailed, their being hosed, their being killed and humiliated for what they believed in and fought to make a reality worked. Their rhetoric’s worked, their rhetoric’s got through. The I have a dream speech struck hard like an ice pick on a cold block of ruthless oppression and split it wide open. They had a dream, and WE now have a dream.
We have a dream, that one day the extension of our and our children’s lives will be recognized not by what is impossible , but by the indispensability of their value. I have a dream, that one day, those who should be in their graves will stand side by side with those children of the future, to watch as the mysteries of infinity continue to unfold. I have a dream today!
