2009 here we come, an optimistic diatribe on the state of the cause.

1/5/09 This started off as an addition to the personal "diary" I keep on my computer. Wow, the progress for the cause has really been doing all I dreamed it could, and even what it would be, around this time. Things are picking up so fast that I feel enough progress to update this topic even though I just did like a week ago. I, we all stuck with it for these first 5 or 6 years of imminst and now things are really going to new levels. Alot of members worked their way into permanent projects for the cause, and some members like mind and the directors for instance really stuck with it and got the ball really spinning for 2008, that was an awesome trip and we have gotten some awesome stuff done. People respect the board of directors, which we kind of take for granted but its big, it could have easily gone the other way. Caliban the book and constitution guy is still there plugging away. Mind has stepped up and created most of the momentous 2008 spin with the directors help. Other members have been doing stuff and have been waiting to do stuff and are now doing more like the dnamechanic with his diligent track keeping of fah. Sven has moved in and done more, with heales and the enthusiastic visionistic life extensionists hes collected for it. New enthusiastic life extensionists are staying when they come through and adding to it like jessyhoo with her spreading of fah to her whole school and interest in helping jump start the student speeches project. Jedimasterlucia has picked up a meeting to head up and has been keeping it moving and has made some art that I, and Im sure others, think is a great vital tool for the cause that inspires more of the same. Sash 2 created the book owners challenge and has really been helping me and a few others as a part of an effective team that had quite a bit of success spreading the meme in myspace and collecting life extensionists. Shannon has been talking about this on shows and all kinds of stuff. Aubrey has moved on to focus on MF and is doing amazing with it and a million other things hes doing. Bruce of course has got an agi aspect rolling with Goertzl. Tons of members are getting in on progressive discussion like kismet, funkodyssey, rwac, agevivo, vgamer, almighty, winterbreeze, and others. Members have already started working with the newly created and amazing MFURI that Kelsey Moody has been orchestrating amazingly. Members like Elrond, John Schloendorn and Mark Hamelainen? not sure how to spell that, have moved on to the most pivotal project, direct sens research. The navigators have stuck diligently with the cause and done, although contrary to some opinion, an awesome job, in the face of such a sensitive and important challenge. Funk has got a possible additional show in the works for the awesome broadcast channel that Mind got spinning, in which he hosts what I think will probably be one of the (many) more recognizable foot notes in the history books of this cause. Agevivo has got a potentially amazing page running and in more and more development with the Longevity Communities Network, cant say enough about that. I think that page is going to be a huge, as of yet underrated, tool for the cause. Agevivo also has the mouse research @ home in progressive discussion which could possibly amongst other things be an excellent addition to imminsts angle on contributing to the science of the cause. Joseph moved in as navigator and probably more upcoming, and bram stepped in to help with a meeting as secretary inspiring others. Tom Mooney has been working diligently and we have a meeting to help him spread his government petition and support everything else he does. Reasons Longevity Meme continues to be an awesome news source for the cause and birthed the ever increasingly successful Longevity Meme fah team. Charlie Warren has got an excellent and needed softened up version of the meme for certain demographics up and running with a fully developed neighborhood canvassing project. Ceth created an imminst volunteer wiki and is always getting in on the action, helped me get the projects list, a compilation of projects from members around imminst, rolling in the google doc which was a great catalyst for that. The membership at imminst has been exploding which is superb, we need the ranks, we always hoped for the ranks and all the seeds we all so diligently planted with out much immediate response are really starting to sprout in these incoming ranks. I cant name all the stuff and the people but this is a lot of it that comes to mind in this blurb. An example of what I dreamt of for progress for the cause in the past, is to get more members, to see more members discussing ideas and see a few ideas rolling, to pick one or two up and get them done. I used to view if we got that vision as wild success, and in perspective it was. But now there are plenty of things done, more underway and I spend my time now dreaming of things like zines and ezines, students giving speeches for the cause under a coordinated incentive program, and a volunteers page with 50 plus lucrative simple things to do. A campaign bus with many lucrative aspects reaching out like arms and spreading the cause, like a clock gimmick built onto the back of the bus designed to get the media to track it more in local blurbs and news pieces. Theres an ever growing budget. Theres an imminst “300” and a heales concert in the works. More, bigger and better imminst conferences are sure to come. An even more poignant imminst book is begging to be made. When the longevity communities network is complete there will be stock piles of yard signs and flyers and such being set up across the land advertising all the great life extension organizations in one. All of which are at full steam and or picking up steam on their way to the “harbors” of the “dday” that is getting set in the war on aging. The pro aging trancists are cracking more and more, and with exponentiality on our side I don’t even worry about the trancists much any more. They used to be a gut wrenchingly, seemingly rock solid obstacle. Times are good, times are very good, and the momentum is only picking up. The pendulum is gaining in weight and increasing in velocity. This is all, I at least, hoped it would be at this time and more. The biggest thought crossing my mind about all this is how committed diligence from the life extension community through the really hard fought slow times are really picking up now. The exponential progress we had hoped for really is happening. It’s a great day and age to be alive! Long live the life extension movement! The winds of change have really picked up and I can smell the destiny that is the execution of our goals in the air, can you? One day, maybe very soon, I can envision us all convening at an event for the final execution, the execution of the grim reaper himself. Keep forging, stock piling and sharpening those swords, destiny is at hand. Aohelix!!! (sorry, I really like that word, especially how it sums things up well as a catch phrase that is shoutable from the mountain tops)
