I went out to get some food. Thousands of dollars worth of restaurant equipment was scattered on the ground outside of the restaurant. A few days ago it was inside what was a branch of an upscale healthy restaurant chain. You can still see the neon green painted walls inside. I sat at that iron mesh topped table with my eleven dollar meal; now it's just sitting on the lanai. There was a guy picking over the stuff. He said the place closed. Frick. They have other branches. The owners have a home.
Where am I going to get my hormone free chicken, steak and fresh ahi? The restaurant really needed better management, but that's not unusual. The proteins were all very high quality. I drove down to the road intending to go to a healthy Mexican place where the food tends to be cold when it isn't supposed to be. Before I got there I saw a Teppanyaki truck parked on the road. I doubled back. That went o.k. I can get a steak plate with rice and veggies. Not hormone free, but not as aggravating as the other places.. Hope that works out. Trying to be adaptable.
Later I was driving down Albion Street.* I saw an electronic road sign. It said, "Road Work" and "Simulated Gunfire."
Normally the problem is potholes. Just kept driving down this major road that I drive everyday. Saw a lot of white trucks and cop cars on the side of the road. They were movie trucks, maybe seven of them. They were lighted inside and I could see people were working inside. One truck had a lot of large tupperware containers on shelves. One of the side streets was turned into some kind of a street fair. A blonde lady was walking among the stuff, maybe an actress. I've never seen filming in this neighborhood which is cramped and exceedingly plain. They film a large T.V. show in this region. Maybe that was them.
Yesterday I went to the healthy Mexican place. They now have sandbags outside just in case of flooding. Last weekend I was in this same neighborhood about midnight and I saw a thing like a meteor traveling parallel to the ground, gliding slowly. It was maybe between a hundred and several hundred feet off the ground. It was maybe fifty feet long. It was silent or almost silent. Never saw anything like it. The 911 operator said someone saw something similar about ten minutes later maybe five miles away. A few days after that I woke up and my neighborhood seemed to smell like fireworks.
I wanted to eat Whoppers, (the candy), but I didn't. I wanted to eat an orange, but there weren't any decent ones. Tried two places.
Intermittently it rains cats and dogs. It would not have done that before but I kind of like it. It drowns out noise and cleans the air.
In spite of all the progress, this city and my apartment building is more and more full of smokers. The more we know about stuff, the less people here seem to care. Those fucking assholes! There's nobody in there. Zombies.
Trying to be adaptable, to focus on what I need to do, whatever that is. I've really done all I could for myself but I can't seem to get where I need to go.
