The healthier a business is, the more crap they give you
----
Went to the White Man's Food Maze. I normally avoid the vortex that is their coffee bar, but I thought I could get hot water to make the tea I brought from home. Their hot water had black debris in it, maybe coffee grounds from not washing the container? I tried to tell the snotty Asian woman that works there. I was right in front of her and she speaks English but some kind of invisible barrier precluded her understanding the words that were coming out of my mouth. I eventually gave her the water to look at. She eventually gave me some water from the steamer. Thanks.
I should have gone to Java but it was another trip. The Food Maze is a very expensive place but they literally can't boil water. I looked at some interesting teas behind a glass case but I know their store brand is inferior, and what would I have to do to entrain the attention of the staff and cause them to put the tea in the water and hand it to me? Might be able to travel to India and pick the tea myself more easily.
Surprisingly the cookies I got from them were in good condition today. I enjoyed them.
Earlier it was similarly difficult to get some grilled chicken from a healthy chain restaurant. Sometimes I ask them for a plate to eat their food on combined with something I brought from home. Today this request involved two levels of staff and four or five tellings. Because plates are exotic items that need to be explained apparently. I've spent hundreds of dollars there. Why can't you just give me a fucking plate?
Why is it that the healthier a business is the more crap they give you?
