She forgot to tell me she used to be a man

The last episode of Catfish: The T.V. Show reminded me of something that happened to me. I was checking someone's resume. She was a strong woman, involved in women's issues. When I called her references things got murky. There had been someone with her last name in the jobs she had, but the person had a different first name and was a man. People liked him (her?) but I was totally confused. Would you really apply for a job and forget to tell the person that you used to be a man? The mystery was cleared up a few weeks later when a magazine article appeared about her saying she was a pre-op transexual. It also became apparent, that she also smoked a lot of pot. So stuff slips your mind.
The chances are the woman who used to be a man just wants to consider herself as the woman she should have been born as and completely reject the mistake that she feels that she was. My experience with a transgendered person was seeing that she looked as if she was made to be a woman by how she acted and I remember just thinking to myself "God if s/he exists has really made a dispatch error with this one, she is blatantly a woman."
