The Summit for 2004 is about transformative science that is also a little frightening. We're focusing our efforts for 2004 on "Biology At The Edge." Our Summit will provide a distinctive alternative to the incessant "conference noise" that is so much a part of today's business landscape. Biology at the Edge will feature acknowledged leaders of academic labs and early-stage companies who are pioneering the frontiers of applied biological science in synthetic biology and 'artificial life'; in silico biology; bioengineering; and computational biology. We're inviting some of the leading groups—unknown even to most sophisticated investors—who are already beginning to apply new science and technologies to novel treatment methods and modalities. Controversy will not be sidestepped; nor will the problems of commercialization.
