You pay tens of thousands to be cryonized & later revived.

Someone has to be the very first attempted revival.

Then there's revival #2, 3, 4, 5, etc.

Can we expect all revivals to be successful from the get-go???

What if no one leaves instructions that they are willing to be first?

What if everyone leaves instructions that they do NOT want to

be revived until successful revivals are routine?

When I asked Alcor about this they said it would be done on a "last in, first out" basis, which makes sense to me.

Except what if instructions from "last in" specifically states,

"do NOT revive me until successful revivals are routine."

Well, assuming they will keep coming, at some point they will have to revive someone, and the last one could have been frozen 2 days ago.

They: Wake up, we got you unfrozen!

You: Omg, I'm alive! What year is this? Is immortality a thing now?

 

They: Ah, only 2 days passed, but you remember though, "last in, first out" !

 

You: Freeze me back!

They: Okay.

 

They: Wake up, we got you unfrozen!

They: Ah, only 2 hours passed, but you remember though, "last in, first out" !

 

You: Freeze me back!

They: Okay.

I am confident that in the far future when cryonics patients are revived, there will be near 100% certainty that the person's physical and conscious identity survives the process. Cryonics companies will not proceed without thorough testing in animals and high fidelity simulations.

 

Frogs can already be revived every year (naturally) after being partially frozen every winter.

 

The water bear can be frozen solid down to -100F and come back to be the life of the party.

 

Te evidence already exists that it can be done.

Frogs & water bears DON'T DIE FIRST.

Death followed by revival does NOT exist in nature AFAIK.

Layman semantics games can't overcome its nonexistence.

Life>Death>Frozen>Life has to be INVENTED by man.

Or introduced by aliens...
