Hello Alcor members in Minnesota/Wisconsin,
We’re up to a possible 16 Alcor and Cryonics Institute members, friends and family interested in attending our upcoming August 11 cryonics meeting in Minnesota. I hope all of you who've expressed an interest can still make it.
If you haven't expressed an interest to me by email, I hope you're planning on attending anyway.
I’ve decided not to put out a formal agenda for this first get-together.
I thought we could start off with optional attendee introductions, then go around the room again to let people individually share any cryonics problems or solutions they’ve been thinking about.
My personal priority is to recruit local funeral directors and paramedics we can count on in an emergency.
Another concern I have is the safety of our cryonics funding. I’ve read some things about insurance and Medicaid assets that I don’t think all Cryonicists are aware of, but should be.
Here are some other subjects people coming to the meeting have expressed an interest in discussing:
Hospital non-interference/cooperation.
Friends and family support.
Current best practices in suspension protocol.
Longevity techniques/habits.
There are a lot of important details to consider within these topics. In my mind, everything’s open for discussion. In the end, I hope we can at least get a start in gauging interest, addressing issues and setting priorities for a local or regional support group.
Until then, if you have any questions or concerns about the meeting, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Chuck Bartl

I would suggest anyone who follows cryonics, or supports cryonics, attend the meeting. The more the merrier. I will be there.
