The Ampakines, most of them developed by RespireRX, belong to the group of the "interesting, potentially powerful but mysterious nootropics" due to the lack of accesable scientific papers and studies.

 

You can read a lot of promising articels in the internet, but there are no really informations given, nor you can find any detailed review of an eperimentee.

 

Why are Ampakines so unpopular and popular at the same time?

They're usually harder to synthesize and can be quite risky with respect to excitotoxicity. Racetams are basically Ampakine-lite and have similar effects, are less risky, and are cheaper to make
