Hi,
I found this forum through googling about ginkgo biloba and neurological problems and found a very interesting thread. I am hoping that the wisdom of some of you here can help educate me.
I have been having a nasty problem with hemiplegic migraines after taking this supplement:

it's happened twice and it lasted for 6 weeks. This was taking the supplement 5 years apart and very similar symptoms happened both sides affecting the facial nerve on my left side. I had brain MRIs both times and all was ok. I want to investigate whether this supplement could be responsible. If so, what kind of process or mechanism of action could it be taking?
My symptoms were visual snow, migraine, left sided numbness but not weakness, tingling all over body, tinnitis and hyperacusis. The symptoms came on stronger with exercise. I recovered in 6 weeks and had 2 weeks off work. Eventually I was diagnosed with hemiplegic migraines after seeing a few neuros and suspecting MS for a while.
I don't take any other midications except an SSRI, sertraline. I tried nootropics once but only for a couple of weeks and haven't taken many drugs over the years. I am very sensitive to caffeine and I have quite severe Raynauds however the SSRI really helps with it and now I only get it when very cold or I haven't taken my medication.
Thanks for any help! This was the thread I found:
