L-Ornithine affects peripheral clock gene expression in mice

Ornithine ingestion improved sleep disturbances but was not associated with correction of blood tryptophan ratio in Japanese Antarctica expedition members during summer.

Ornithine users had lower TSH and increased T4 and T3, both without and with cold exposure, seems to have a similar trend in improving thyroid function similar to ashwagandha in subclinical hypothyroidism? Another pretty striking thing is that under cold exposure ornithine users their thyroid production became even more effective, I thought this was pherhaps the most striking of all. With regards to life extension, hypothyroidism has actually been thought to extend life afaik? could it just be that ornithine is life shortening through ramping up metabolism thereby creating more inflammation?

Maybe I should point out that the bottom study (despite being in Drosophila) showed lifeSHORTENING effects for some NO-boosters (so highly debated on this forum) including the well known l-citrulline, but also l-ornithine.

Now l-citrulline has in the past allready actually been shown to be cancer promoting (most likely due to its effects on mTOR and VEGF).

Bump on this.

This is still a forum about longevity is it? The dramatic reduction in life span in this model by polyamines just baffles me:

Lets just hope that people are not replying for the simple fact that they find it confronting and might be on citrulline themselves (which has shown to be cancer promoting by itself aswell).
