I get Restless Leg Syndrome now and again, it's quite rare for me, but some things have caused it in the past. Taking Tyrosine for instance has caused RLS when I've come off it, I assume due to dopamine receptor down-regulation.
Recently, I've started taking ZMA and I have been getting RLS at night while I'm on it, which is odd because I've heard that it's effective in countering RLS in some cases. It's been said that things which increase serotonin can be triggers for RLS so I'm assuming in my case it's because the B6 in the ZMA is creating excess serotonin in my brain rather than dopamine.
B6 is a co-factor in both serotonin and dopamine, is there a way to somehow favour the productoin of dopamine rather than serotonin when taking B6?
RLS and how to tip B6 towards dopamine production over serotonin
