As in all previous years, we are inviting Immortality Institute Members to comment on our spending plans for 2019.

The potential budget is ca. $88K

A strong priority will be on Members feedback in the above thread, but Non-Members can comment below.

Try doing research into drug discovery using Machine Learning on molecules/genes. The AI community/research is quite large and fast-moving, there is actually people already doing this, so yous should jump on their shoulders first.

And research into Natural Language Processing (NLP) AGI, check out GPT-2 below - the most impressive AI / language-understanding model yet.

https://openai.com/b...anguage-models/

You have to realize this taps into the brain, and that once we create 1 AGI - our research (discovery of knowledge) will be done by them finally. For extraordinary de-aging you need extraordinary amounts of research/'arms' to give you a hand. Yes we find shortcuts, but our next shortcut will be able to do things no human hand can do.

I can't see the content in the link. Is there a way for you to attach it? Thanks.

Best go to Open AI's website and check out the amazing GPT-2 they made.

But I'll attach the paper and a book I generated from their small-version they let the public have.

Thanks @Dream Big. I've read mixed things about their small version, but definitely will dig in more.

Hi @Caliban, can non-members see the spending plan?

Hi @Caliban, can non-members see the spending plan?

Not in detail. Once finalised, the general outline will be shared publicly.

The Budget has now been ratified.

We have kept some of the 'standard' items, including the cryo-charity. There will be continued funding for our 'fundraiser certification' programme, for 2x"small" ($800) and 2x"medium" ($3K) support items. Support for the affiliate labs has been cut, but the labs still get $2K each for student/internships. Maximum personnel expenditure is at ca. 7% of spending. There is an editor budget for articles and podcasts, a Secretary budget for supporting meetings and travel to conferences and a tiny bit of advertising. One new and potentially substantial expenditure would be investing into a forum software upgrade, but this will be prefaced by an audit about what the costs and convenience implications are likely to be.

The main spending recommendations will be made by a LongeCitizens 'Conclave. This panel will decide on the allocation of ca $30K spending on "science" and ca. $8K on "biomarkers".  Rules for the conclave have been set out. Next month, we will collect project ideas and in June the conclave members get to deliberate and formulate their suggestion.
But first we need to recruit DELEGATES. Send me a PM if you have a person in mind. They don't need to be Immortality Institute Members, but some affinity to LongeCity's mission would certainly be helpful.

I should point out that the budget is planned with certain revenue expectations in mind.  Quite recently we have seen a sudden and yet unexplained drop in google ads revenue. Please help spread the word about Longecity, so that we can achieve our ambitious goals.
