Hello,

I am trying to use the Tens device correctly, for this I have put the ear clips as follows:
-positive from Tens to ear tragus.
-negative from Tens to ear lobe.
In the left ear, in the right ear or in both ears.
I have also used it the other way around:
-positive from Tens to ear lobe.
-negative from Tens to ear tragus.

All with a frequency of 20Hz and 100uS.
I don't get very good results, can I be wrong?

Thank you very much and greetings.

First of all, I'm not an authority on this procedure, I'm just one person who has used it so n = 1. However my results have been similar to what others have experienced.

You say you didn't get very good results, what results were you looking for? Did you test your blood pressure and pulse? That is one thing easy to check since many drugstores and some grocery stores have a free testing machine.

I did not feel much if any differences after using it. Maybe a little more relaxed but nothing I could say for sure was from the treatment. However, when I checked my stats then there was no denying it. My bp from a doctor visit a while back was 130/85 I believe it was and that is not good. My average readings now that I started using it are around 100/65 with a high of 111/71 and low of 90/57

When I use it every day I get more lowering, when I use it every 2 or 3 days I get a decent lowering but not super low. My pulse went from a tachycardia rate of 103 to 112 at rest to around 75 to 85 now. That is what I call good results even though I don't feel much different. High bp is called the silent killer because you don't have symptoms until it gets really bad. Tachycardia is less serious but is also bad

Go get your stats and come back and tell us what they were. Do you know your usual numbers?

One other thing, I used mine for 30 minutes per session, how long did you use yours? Did you feel anything? I set it so that I could feel it then turned it down a tiny bit from that.

I've started using one last night.  I just did my right ear.  One electrode on tragus, the other on ear lobe.  Mine allows you to set the intensity so I went up until I could really feel the buzz. My pulse is always a steady 60, sometimes dipping below during the day and probably when I sleep.  This is an anti-aging intervention because it is well known that sympathetic over-activation occurs with normal and abnormal aging.  I'll keep you guys posted, but would also like to know if I'm using the right technique.

That is basically it, but no need to turn it up beyond what you can feel. How long did you do it for and which polarity was on the tragus? In the photo I saw, positive was on the tragus and neg on the lobule. If you know your usual blood pressure you can see if it was changed. Might need 2 or 3 sessions to see it, not sure.

I didn't pay attention to the polarity as I didn't think it mattered at all.  Next time I will.  Last night I was having trouble with the stickiness of the pads.  I'd rather have non-sticky pads and just tape them, sticky pads seem like a terrible design.

you need the ear clips, $4 on ebay or 8 on amazon. sticky pads are no good imo

agreed.  The pads word fine for larger surfaces like my wife's back, but even then I'd almost rather tape them or restrain them manually than rely on sticky gunk that wears out almost immediately.  Planned obsolescence?

What results did you get, and what were you expecting?

Your setup sounds correct.

Here is an interesting video on how to set up a tVNS session, although with different electrodes and electronics.

I have been using my TENS 7000 for tVNS since August to improved my tennis game reaction time, and it still works well, according to my opponents!
Setup: 15min or 30min/both ears or only left ear/100us/25Hz/normal mode/tragus(+)-ear lobe(-)/7:30am/daily before 8am tennis game/.

Thanks a bunch for this post, OP. It's truly a golden information. I'll be experimenting with my tDCS device on my ear as per the study this very night. Hopefully the direct current works just fine for this.
