About a year and a half ago, as with many other supplements out there, I gave C60 a shot.

Kept it in my refrigerator when not using, took the recommended dosage at first, then slightly higher later on, did this for about 2 months I reckon and I just didn't feel anything from it from what I recall.

At the end of it, I tallied it down to a waste of money.

I am considering of course giving it a shot again some day but I wish you guys can talk me into (or out of) a reason for doing it.

It seems like Snake Oil to my instinctive way of thinking. Change my mind?

Now, NMN on the other hand, I have noticed changes on, more energy, better recovery, etc.

Was I expecting too much from C60?

Not sure if this is quite what you are looking for, but I will tell you my experience.

It started NR last September and quickly found that I could not take the recommended dose of 250 MG. It made me feel like my head was swelling and my heart was pounding. I could tolerate 125, so I used that dose, with occasional tries to increase the dose. It never worked. When they came out with 150 mg caps, I took those, and can tolerate the dose. In the 6 months following September I added magnesium and TMG to the mix, hoping to make higher doses more tolerable. They did not, and I discontinued them for about 3 months. I did experience a sharp decrease in foot pain from osteoarthritis, which I credit NR for.

In March I started looking at C60 to see if that would help. I started taking it in March, and within a couple of months I noticed the osteo pain was even less. Now I do not need Alleve at all, unless the weather is really bad, and I over do the exercise. I have added back the magnesium because it might be good for the heart.

I also noticed a really nasty big toe nail that I have had falling off constantly for the last 10 years, was staying attached, and growing from the nail bed all the way to the top of the toe. This thing was so bad I stopped wearing sandals 10 years ago, even I could not stand to look at it. It is now back. It has a ridged shape, but is fully attached with a healthy looking nail bed. In fact all nails seem healthier. I attribute this to the C 60 and NR. I can't tell which is more important.

Last week I noticed that a bunch of "spider" veins on my leg seemed to be less of an issue. So I took a picture. In a couple of weeks I will take another picture and post them - if they go away completely. They have definitely improved.

So, nothing dramatic, except for the almost total lack of pain in big toe joints, that have no cartilage. I had one of the toe joints cleaned out surgically 20 years ago. The ortho said I would need it fused in 5 years. This is a big one for me, as the pain was bad, and I developed a sensitivity to Alleve. I think, but cannot prove the combination of NR and C 60 are responsible.

Minor things like nails and capillaries. The usual, "I think I can think better, and am more alert" stuff, but that is subjective, and could be due to increased exercise. By the way, the pain always increased with exercise, and now it does not.

If the skin thing with the capillaries works out I will let you all know. I am a "healthy" 69 yro male, if there is such a thing.

TheFountain, C60 is a powerful antioxidant, so would u expect any change by just taking C vitamin? I think maybe what most take it for is to prevent aging...

Joe sounds like u have a nail fungus(candida?), dunno the real name for it English ain't my nativa language. My father had something similiar the big toe nail looked like it was rotten, he claimed it was because he damaged the toe when he was in he's teens. But some 10 years ago he tried a fungus medication on it that made it go away.

Guess C60 could have some antifungus effect, but better u try some medicine on it? Owndoc.com has some, where I buy my C60 also :)

No, it also has other actions, like activating CaMKII (Calcium channels):

But I think Vitamin C should be a running gag when talk is of nothing more than a "powerful antioxidant".

I don't think it was fungus, it was not rotting off or falling apart. Just half attached all the time and looked weird. But since you suggested it, I am dousing it in anti fungal liquid to see what happens. But nail are definitely growing faster and healthier than they did before. Not sure how that contributes to "health span" but you take what you can get. Wish it did the same for hair.
