I have a question for folks who take PQQ and vitamin C.
I've noticed that PQQ is reduced by vitamin C:
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is reduced to pyrroloquinoline quinol (PQQH2) by vitamin C, and PQQH2 produced is recycled to PQQ by air oxidation in buffer solution at pH 7.4
https://pubmed.ncbi....h.gov/26264520/
And in the study:
Pyrroloquinoline quinone inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines via the SIRT1/NF-κB signal pathway in weaned piglet jejunum
https://pubs.rsc.org...0/fo/c9fo02609f
it states "... however, the addition of 200 mg kg−1 VC to the diet containing PQQ reduced most of the effects of PQQ" and "... higher concentrations of VC react with PQQ, which inhibits the regulatory mechanism of PQQ." in the abstract.
So my question is whether there is concern by those taking PQQ simultaneously with vitamin C that perhaps they are negating some of the potential positive effects of PQQ by its reduction with vitamin C? If there is not concern, why not?
