Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone else here is taking trimipramine or has experience with it?

Trimipramine is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) traditionally marketed under the name Surmontil.

I find it helps me "surmount" my depression, more than any other drug classified as "antidepressant", and I've tried *a lot*.  In my experience, it is also a better antipsychotic than even clozapine.  While using trimipramine, I have come so far that I can't call the depression a "mood" disorder any more.  I am just somewhat apathetic.

One particularly unusual action of trimipramine is to block histamine H2-receptors.  I think this may underlie some of its antidepressant action.
