Can somebody explain the benefits and downsides of agonising and antagonising 5ht2a and 5ht2c receptors?

There is alot of conflict out there.

Thank you

5ht2a agonizing: nice hallucination (LSD), anti-inflammatory, increase ability to feel sense, feel, touch, etc..

5ht2a antagonizing: better sleep.

5ht2c agonizing: decrease impulsivity and motivation for food.

5ht2c antagonizing: increase feed intake.

Thanks for replying.

How is male sexuality, anhedonia and depression regarding the above receptors
I've read 5ht2a is good for depression but bad for anhedonia, also bad for erectile response. Also 5ht2c is good for erectile response but bad for libido

For libido anhedonia you need to agonist dopamine 3 receptors, ht2a and ht2c has nothing to do with libido , if any it will be like digging with spoon, ht2c blockage increase ability to enjoy food (some antidepressants effect but just in food) for libido you need to act with receptors that known to be able to cuz massive hypersexuality, like dopamine 3, with high enough doses you will be able even to do sex and erectile multiple times one by one without the need to wait 15 min like normal man's

But there some problems with dopamine 3 like compulsive impulsivity and gambling addiction, overspending etc..

Other very strong option to increase libido is testosterone, he will upregulate dopamine 3 in some places in the brain lead to massive hypersexuality with very low ability to cause impulsivity. Testosterone also have strong ability to eliminate depression and enhdonia, and increase ability to solve problems.

Other receptors like dopamine 1 have minor role in libido but they have great effect like work addiction (motivation)

For enhdonia and depression there a lot of receptors to interact with like agonist ht1a, alpha 2a of adrenaline, dopamine 2.

You can find full info about any receptors function in this thread
