Micro-emulsions and nano-emulsions are skin penetration enhancer technologies which can draw supplements or drugs (with molecular weights as large as 150,000 daltons) across the skin and into the body.
Normally the skin will only absorb molecules up to around 500 daltons, but using micro-emulsions and nano-emulsions, you can draw much larger molecules across the skin. These are truly advanced drug delivery systems.
A pioneer and expert of such penetration enhancer technology is Dr Greg Russell-Jones, who sells his own water-in-oil micro-emulsion transdermal vitamin B12, which gets as much B12 through the skin transdermally as you would get with a B12 injection!
It should be possible to create your own micro-emulsion and nano-emulsion at home with simple equipment, which can then be used to draw substances like peptides or low bioavailability drugs or supplements across the skin.
