I am 67 and as a result of taking vitamins for about 54 years, I'm in good shape for my age. For decades I've been taking arginine and ornithine at bedtime off and on to promote HGH release. When I do use it, I can see the results in the mirror the next morning. I read recently that the effect of taking arginine for HGH decreases greatly with age. I've heard that glycine has a similar effect and am about to try it. Is it a good secretagogue when taken on an empty stomach at bedtime? Does its effect diminish with age less than the effect of arginine? What can you tell me? Thanks.

What dosage of arginine and ornithine are you taking? With what frequency (and why)?
I am turning 52 and considering supplementing with them. Thanks.

At present, I am taking 4.5 grams of arginine and 2.25 grams of ornithine an hour or more after eating, just before bed. I am taking a formulation which consists of both.
Anybody know about substituting glycine?

Thanks for your quick reply.
In your first post you say that you're taking arginine & ornithine on and off. Is there a rationale behind it? What is the schedule?

Well, we're talking about decades. There is no rationale. Over such a length of time, I have just sometimes been enthusiastic and sometimes not thought about it. I just stop eating at least an hour before I take it and do this right before bed.

Why not just use a real secretogogue like ghrp 2 or something else? But why not just use actual hgh? As we age you are correct that our ability to produce hgh decreases and its regardless or invariant of the secretogogue that you use... There are very affordable hgh options on the market to the tune of maybe $50/month if you know where to buy.
I am beginning to do research in HGH (I'm 48) , do you mine PM some more info/sources. Thanks!
