It also can cause thrombotic events due to increased production of clotting factors.

Not if you avoid the oral route. There is also a long-acting variety that has reduced cardiovascular effects.
In reality all problems with coagulation are extremely easy to prevent with blood thinners and blood clot busters (anti-fibrin) like nattokinase.

There is Ethinylestradiol and Estradiol Valerate. What are the bio-active differences between these two?
Posted 14 February 2021 - 05:03 PM
Estradiol valerate is the natural hormone with an ester attached (which easily gets removed) to increase its half-life in the body.
Ethinylestradiol is a synthetic hormone which does not get metabolized the same way as natural estradiol (which can be a positive thing) and has stronger binding to estrogen receptors.

Ethinylestradiol is the compound no longer used by transgenders because of the risk of thrombotic events, including DVT. Estradiol Valerate is the one they use now in transdermal form (patch). Neither of these are recommended in pill form due to them passing through the liver and overproduction of coagulation factors. If you are using the Ethinylestradiol, I assume you are taking it by patch. Form what I know, ether of these compounds in pill form, particularly the synthetic, dramatically increases DVT and other thrombotic risk.

Estetrol, a natural estrogen, has no or little propensity for breast development and does not affect liver coagulatory proteins
Might this be a non-feminizing alternative?
