I'm being honest, it's the right thing to do is to educate. Actually, I'm also saying it is 10% weird, because it's hard to convince others and I don't know how many people are seeing your FAQ

Also it would need to show the AI we have now like on openAI.com, have you done that yet? Without that one kind of only has magic and hope to talk about, along with eternity. AI is a central part to education of any human you want to teach.

Oh, I wouldn’t worry so much I believe this is going to reach many people and even change peoples minds. It is definitely weird, but weird can be good sometimes. There are Facebook groups with many many pro-immortality people. Once they read the first draft Im hoping some will want to add things like you did, proofread, edit ,add more to the answers, etc., etc. In the end I’m doing this for myself , because I’m going to send it to everyone I can and hopefully it will change their mind or at least get them think in our direction. Don’t worry I’m positive and really think we reach people. Do you have an email or PM where I can send you what we got so far and how it looks so far that looks more streamlined ?

"I’ll bite. Can you show me how AI involves immortality?"

Ok here is a very explorative reply from me I hope you enjoy it though I do like how it tries hard to connect several things:

Evolution begins when gravity causes particles to come together and make atoms...molecules...planets...There is only a limited set of types of atoms that can exist, the large ones begin decaying and become smaller, that's why uranium is radioactive. Same for planets, too big and it catches fire - suns are huge planets. Black holes are supposed to be so big that light can't escape but then the question arises isn't it just going to radiate still? So maybe a black hole "atom" can exist, which would be scary? Notice we don't care much if a copper atom is a tad different, a copper atom is a copper atom. Size changes its properties. So if you have a bigger planet, it becomes warmer, it has new properties globally on average. Molecules, I'm not knowledgeable on.

You might ask "ok, so things get bigger, new properties, and being medium sized is the sweet zone for life (else becomes chaos/ melts). But what about intelligent life? So something can get new properties without becoming bigger?". Yes. While a planet or galaxy of planets is bigger than an atom due to being less dense, it is still inefficient at growing because it is not modeling its own physics. There is no storage of DNA/ memories to mutate and store an improvement. A brain/team is made of layers of features, and if one is too powerful or weak, it can harm the system hierarchy. Evolution involves the cell first appearing some-what by chance once the stage is set with the right sized atoms/ planets. It then begins cloning - similar to how atoms are repeated throughout the universe as a pattern. Cells just do the cloning/ growing faster using less energy and matter, due to modeling their own physics. The goal of this cloning is to survive/ grow. Planets grow, but it's slow, meaning they are vulnerable to being recycled by smarter systems.

Animals are made of many cells, similar to a colony of individuals. A human is similar to a cell in that it clones the DNA - it longs to breed (and survive too), but has a brain. Also mom and dad genes mix, which is better than randomly mutating DNA features. The brain does something very similar, but it's much faster than real life "try-it" - it mixes old ideas to make bigger new ideas. It also clones them like a computer/mind virus or cells/animals, as many times as it can, to win the "game" and be cloned everywhere. The brain's intelligence finds patterns, such as poodle poodle poodle (a dog domain word/image comes next if you try to predict the next word), or walk=WALK=run=to go fast=sound of moving, which allows the use of many old memories to solve new unseen questions and make new questions. If you know the word 'run' follows 'we' 80% the time, you say it 80% the time if see 'we'. The more you read books etc, the smarter you get also. Humans try to clone as much as can, and survive as long as can. It's the nature of it. AI, as seen in my thread I made today on Longecity, will also live forever easily and will accept immortality. They'll help us.

Increasing brain intelligence is great - dreaming patterns takes less energy and space than trying it in real life. I think after ASI is created, our world will be made of nanobots and will grow into a galaxy of nanobots, like a planet grows, but faster than a planet i.e. it will have less change - when a planet grows there is often lots of heat/ clashing/ meteors, so it doesn't really stay the same thing time-wise or clone-wise. This 'nanobot galaxy' will be identical through-out, and would have very little change individually over time.

So overall, you have parts coming together that try to have duplicates that each stay unchanged (double pattern haha), and 'the parts' are learning about themselves (brains store/create patterns) how to do it better. So the answer to your question can be said as it's like, literally, immortality learning immortality AKA the matter naturally cools down/ becomes patterny but then that "learns" how to do it better by using what it has so-far.

Wow, that’s pretty complex. Your smarter then I am so give me a chance to read that a few times and understand it,

What we got so far, make changes to it if you want to, in fact I encourage it.

-Hello everyone,

First I made this list of questions on immortality. Tell me what you think if you would like. Also if you have more questions that you think might be a great addition to the FAQ then by all means please let me know I will add it to the FAQ with whatever internet name you want, or even your real name could be in the FAQ, even doing something small like that guarantees your name on the FAQ as helping me. That is if you want it there at all. I do not have many questions, so I need more. This FAQ will be free to all. Immortality FAQ is just a temporary name, or in the end I may keep it.

This FAQ will be a way too give noobs great information on immortality. I need more questions as I don’t have that many so far.

The Everlasting Immortality FAQ ( I don’t know what to title it in order to attract lots of people?)

It will start like something like this
- A Crash Course Introduction to
Immortality - ?

( I thought it would it be cool to start the FAQ with a bang. I used this Dr. Suess entry :

In those green-pastured mountains
of Fotta-fa-Zee
Everyone feels fine
at a hundred and three
‘cause the air they breathe
is potassium-free
and because they chew nuts
from the Tutt-a-Tutt Tree.
This gives Strength to their teeth,
it gives length to theit hair,
and they live without doctors,
with nary a care.*

*Dr.Suess

[This is an Immortality FAQ which will answer all your questions on immortality. It was the Transhumanist FAQ that gave me the hunger to make this FAQ so thank you Nick Bostrom. Why do I call it the everlasting immortality faq ? Well because this faq will last foverever because when human beings reach a aeon of age let’s say , so will the faq. So there will be changes to it in the future, when we travel the stars as immortals there will still be people making changes to this FAQ forever. This is a one of kind FAQ that will last forever and forever.changes will be done to it like Wikipedia, there will be checks made by people to make sure that any changes to the FAQ are based in fact. ]

What if I told you as a teacher, in the beginning of your education ( say fifth or sixth grade ), that all of you in this classroom could live forever. Would you be excited or afraid? ( I want the kids to smile and think it’s an interesting topic to think about and study )

What do you hope to achieve with this FAQ?

Since I will be immortal will many of my memories fade?

What is Longevity Escape Velocity?

In short, the Longevity Escape Velocity is a situation in which the life expectancy in years increases faster than your age.
For example according to the United Nations the global average life expectancy now is 72.6 years,
https://www.google.c...ife expectancy
Lets say, that you are 30 years old now, and thus you are expected to live 42,6 years more. But if the life expectancy the next year becomes 74,6 years, you are now expected to live 44,6 years. Thus each year you become older, your expectancy to live longer increases.
That is simply a good wish. The life expectancy is really increasing, but the rate that it increases is too slow to be achieved the longevity escape velocity.

When is biological immortality predicted to happen?

I don’t like the idea of you trying to make people immortal, it would make the world overpopulated? This gives me the right to castrate you.

[ Great question. I’m having trouble answering this one in a way that makes immortality sound good, which is what this immortality FAQ is about, to get people to see the light. ]

What if dictators, or some other kind abstract evil person arises who we can’t make sense of at that moment, what if the rule forever?

In the age of covid19, a plague, what’s immortality got to do with anything? Is it even possible?

What’s the difference between biological immortality and digital immortality?

Will I still die if I say, get shot or run over by a car ., etc?

If I’m in my 70s or 80s when immortality becomes a reality , will I look younger?

Why do people still think death is inevitable like the did in the past?

Is there any science fiction, or other genres of fiction, that has a positive outlook on the subject of immortality?

Are there any films or television programs ( entertainment) that have a positive outlook on immortality?

What if I believe in an afterlife and I am ok with death?

Why are people so strongly opinionated on the subject of immortality?

People have been dying with certainity for millenia. That is why the social psychology of all countries arround the world has been trained for many generations, that people can not be immortal. The minds of the current generations of people have been brainwashed from the last two or three generations, with the postulates, that you will certainly die, there is nothing you can do about that, you shouldn't waste valuable time and resources for that, because immortality is impossible. That is why the new generations of people can not get out of the box, and realize, that the absence of immortality is simply due to insufficient development of the science and the medical practice. That statement, that the human is mortal has evaded the life so strongly, that the majority of the aspects of life have been already modified so, that to fit perfectly that concept. That is why the people currently are so stongly opinionated for the subject of immortality and as a default deny everything, that says them the opposite. If someone says them, that immortality may be possible, they will look at him/her as an idiot or deluded mind.

Would immortality bring us overpopulation?

The rise of the population is not only due to the decline of the deaths, but also the rise of the new births. In a society in which all become immortal, and no new children get born, there will be no overpopulation and the resources will be enough or everyone. The absence of new children after the human become immortal is temporary until new lands and resources get adopted, for example when other planets get populated.

Would immortality make me human, or would I become something else altogether?

That depends on what way of immortality people are streaming to. There are ways, that may make the human immortal without the human to become something else. One such way is the development of transplantable tissues and organs from stem cells. When that becomes true the damaged, worn out and aged tissues and organs would be replaced. That way preserves the biological human being as a biological human being.

You seem to be positive on your outlook on immortality, why?

I understand, that the development of the science and the medicine can make the human immortal. That is why I plan to do what I can in order to make immortality happen during my life, if not I hope it to become a reality for my children or grandchildren.

Current advances in many sciences suggest, that many of the ways of becomming immortal are possible. For example, for the stem cells and the replacement as a strategy of immortality, we may say, that there are already successfully tissues made of stem cells replaced in people.
https://www.longecit...sed-on-people/
There are many things to do in order these transplantations to become flawless, yes, yet not all organs can be made of stem cells, yes, but the concept of transplanted tissues made from stem cells actually is already proven.

What companies are now working on making immortality a reality?

A better question would be what scientific teams are now working on making immortality a reality. And it depends on what way of immortality you believe in. These are all scentific teams, that work with human stem cells, the teams that try to develope a cancer treatments. Particulary for companies I can think of the cryonics companies - Alcor, The Cryonics Institute, Kriorus. There is a company, that is trying to make gene therapies, that may make people immortal, such as BioViva.

"What do you hope to achieve with this FAQ?"
That is a question, that will perfectly answered by you :)
I guess, that you hope to list the questions, that may arrise about immortality and provide an educated and the most correct answer.

"Since I will be immortal will many of my memories fade?"
The most of your memories will fade with the time. That from one side is ensureing, that you will never get bored, on the other side put questions about your identity (see the "Would immortality make life boring?" section). A simple way to protect your most important memories is repetition.  After some periods of time remember deliberatly the memories, that you do not want to loose.

"What’s the difference between biological immortality and digital immortality?"
The biological immortality as general is never to die as a biological being.
The digital immortality as general is transferring the workings of your brain (name it your personality) in a machine.
*I personally percept the digital immortality as a model of your brain, and think, that when your biological brain dies, you die, no matter if you have a model of your brain or not. What remains is a copy of your mind, that is very convinced, that it is you.

Is your immortality FAQ already published somewhere? If so, would you provide a link?

Why is your FAQ called ‘The Everlasting Immortality FAQ’?

I ( my name will be at the top of the FAQ and people who help with the FAQ will be in acknowledgments or something like that I haven’t figured that part out yet. ) have named it ‘The Neverending Immortality FAQ’ because first of all if you live forever so will this wonderful FAQ be Neverending/Everlasting as well, it will be there for you if you need it, it’s mostly for newcomers to the idea of immortality, but I want it to last forever just like the people who will. Over time it might change in character, and the questions and answers will change in time too. Take for example in your immortal lifespan you might come across something known as ‘immortality insanity’ ( I came up with this term for it, if people want it changed just ask )as a problem, so our FAQ will provide new answers on how to deal with immortality insanity, but that’s only if it becomes a problem.

Will I get immortality insanity if I live forever?

Well, first of all you have to live a long, long while for that to happen, if it will even happen at all, we just don’t know yet. We aren’t at this stage yet, so we really do not have an answer for it. I would say some people might go a little crazy, some full on crazy, so may not experience it at all. It would make sense if you have emotional issues now, they may stay the same in your immortal lifespan or they may get worse. One thing is for sure we will always have the latest improvements in psychology and psychiatry to help you along if you are such a person. I for one do not believe in any type of “immortality insanity” actually ever happening to anyone, but that doesn’t mean it will not become a real thing if you have lived , say, a million years. It’s only a matter of time when we will truly figure out if this becomes a real issue, but for now we just can’t say for sure, however we can make some conjectures or predictions at this point, but that’s just educational guessing at this point.

Yes, I will answer “What do you hope to achieve with this FAQ” myself, so you don’t need to worry about certain questions like that one for example.

No, this Immortality FAQ is not published anywhere else. I thought I would start it here as we have like minded people here, especially the Immortality Institute which I can’t get into. You can pass the FAQ around as is if you would like, for example there are many Immortality Facebook groups that may be able to help us out, especially proofreaders, so feel free to spread this FAQ around even though it’s nowhere near complete. The primary purpose of this FAQ is if a say a new person is interesting in the topic of immortality and askes questions about immortality you can quickly send them this FAQ and we will turn them into true believers in becoming immortality or near-immortality believers ( I’ll have to ask Big Dream if the universe will really end, and if so perhaps we can escape our deaths by that point in the future by traveling through an Einstein-Rosen bridge , to another universe or dimension. Perhaps we can create universes that far in the future. So I don’t believe in semi-immortality or near-immortality I’m an immortality optimist who believes one can live forever, forever. so long as we don’t get hit by a car or an asteroid when we travel the stars.

"Well, is your clone truly you? Of the same body yes. But not the same exact brain, not with the same memories , etc. no it has not lived your life so is therefore not you. Am I right?"

Sir, I am talking about AGI on a computer with no body, or it could have a body. And I'm talking about a trained AI like those on openAI.com. If you pause one such and clone it, it is an exact copy of your memories - you. Now you can resume both in the computer or body and both will be exactly you, there's 2 of you, I'm not joking with you. You could run the 2nd's algorithm on a different faster computer and body and it will still resume as him/You, it is you. You is not about the body or the algorithm even or the computer speed, just the memories stored on a chip, though maybe the algorithm matters some amount I mean the memories have to be used the same ways. You have to learn deeply about the things on openAI.com and Microsoft's NUWA as seen on its github page, we are getting closer to AGI. We are machines, we have no souls or will, we are deterministic and just running by rules.

Ok I agree we don’t have souls, dead is dead...forever, no soul is going to come out of your body and save you from eternal death. The whole idea of a soul always sounded ridiculous to me.

But when you say we are deterministic and just running by rules I must happily disagree with you there, no one yet has answered the free will debate.

Maybe include a philosophical question about "immortality".

True physical "immortality" is impossible, just as it is impossible to count to infinity. Immortality is a concept (like infinity). It is a concept worth contemplating and exploring as a limit, while lifespans increase. Once aging is a treatable condition and if mind uploading becomes a reality, then people will be "functionally" immortal, but not truly immortal.

Hey Mind,

Mind, well named I brilliant savant that I have no competition with here, but I must try for the sake of the FAQ. This FAQ is primarily for noobs, but I think deep questions like this we just got to have.

Yes, I will include a question on this topic. If you are right I will have to change the title of the FAQ to Near-Immortality FAQ. Which will be a bummer friend thanks, lol. I will probably still call it The Everlasting Immortality FAQ just cause it sounds cooler though, lol. Or I might go with near- or semi-immortality.

But first we have to see if you are 100% correct that immortality is impossible.

Why is true immortality impossible? If you say because the universe will end, I answer back with well what if it doesn’t. What if the universe has and always be here. Then can’t we be immortal? Then you say no the universe will end, don’t you know anything of entropy ( well, no I don’t, lol but maybe you know a bit.) don’t you know everything ends? Well does it? If you know for certain that everything ends then I may have to change my thinking on this faq. But then I say we can think billions of years in the future and make some guesses, but we won’t know for sure if we can or can not due these things. what if by then we can create our own Einstein-Rosen bridges, create our own universes by the year 673, 4687,2757,8867,5787,6777,6659,5945, or travel to other dimensions in 50 aeons?( sorry just being silly here, that’s enough) Actually how many aeons is the universe said to last? Or do we even know? Will we die by the big freeze or the Big Crunch. You probably say the big freeze, right? We’re all the stars go out and we alll die. But by then we may be able to create dyeing spheres to save us lots of time. After that we may be able to create our own stars or use black matter to our advantage. Forgive me I’m not a physical cosmologist, but you probably know much on such subjects as the ultimate fate of the universe, if there is even one at all. Fascinating subject for my FAQ, but may bring it down like a house of cards...thanks Mind, lol.

At the ending of my FAQ I will put a poem by my favorite poet. It’s about not wanting to die and therefore having to live forever. Read it and think on it, does it not fit this FAQ?

Aubade

BY PHILIP LARKIN

I work all day, and get half-drunk at night.
Waking at four to soundless dark, I stare.
In time the curtain-edges will grow light.
Till then I see what’s really always there:
Unresting death, a whole day nearer now,
Making all thought impossible but how
And where and when I shall myself die.
Arid interrogation: yet the dread
Of dying, and being dead,
Flashes afresh to hold and horrify.

The mind blanks at the glare. Not in remorse
—The good not done, the love not given, time
Torn off unused—nor wretchedly because
An only life can take so long to climb
Clear of its wrong beginnings, and may never;
But at the total emptiness for ever,
The sure extinction that we travel to
And shall be lost in always. Not to be here,
Not to be anywhere,
And soon; nothing more terrible, nothing more true.

This is a special way of being afraid
No trick dispels. Religion used to try,
That vast moth-eaten musical brocade
Created to pretend we never die,
And specious stuff that says No rational being
Can fear a thing it will not feel, not seeing
That this is what we fear—no sight, no sound,
No touch or taste or smell, nothing to think with,
Nothing to love or link with,
The anaesthetic from which none come round.

And so it stays just on the edge of vision,
A small unfocused blur, a standing chill
That slows each impulse down to indecision.
Most things may never happen: this one will,
And realisation of it rages out
In furnace-fear when we are caught without
People or drink. Courage is no good:
It means not scaring others. Being brave
Lets no one off the grave.
Death is no different whined at than withstood.

Slowly light strengthens, and the room takes shape.
It stands plain as a wardrobe, what we know,
Have always known, know that we can’t escape,
Yet can’t accept. One side will have to go.
Meanwhile telephones crouch, getting ready to ring
In locked-up offices, and all the uncaring
Intricate rented world begins to rouse.
The sky is white as clay, with no sun.
Work has to be done.
Postmen like doctors go from house to house.

What you describe is "functional immortality".

Immortality is a philosophical concept, like the mathematical concept of "infinity".

No matter how long you count, you will never get to "infinity". No mater how long you live, you will not reach "immortality".

Both are useful logical concepts, though, when discussing the limits of our knowledge and experience.

Thanks for your answer. I had never come across the term ‘functional immortality’. This will be a great addition to my FAQ , thanks. So it seems immortality is just a ‘state of being’ that one never reaches. I wish I had a book discussing this concept of yours , looks like I have some research to do, on top of the research I’m already doing. This FAQ is going to be tougher then I thought, I sometimes wonder if it’s worth it, but in the end I do want to change and/or persuade minds that immortality might be a good thing for humans, so I’m going to keep going with it. I wonder why Immortality Institute hasn’t approached my on this project. Since this FAQ is free it could reach many people just interested in the topic of immortality. There are many Facebook groups for example that are interested in immortality, they need something like an Immortality FAQ to get, especially the noobs, to get them more interested in the subject and learn more and best of all possibly change peoples mind from immortality curmudgeons to immortality optimists, my ultimate goal of this FAQ. Perhaps the Immortality Institute will come around once the FAQ gets better, after all it’s just at its beginning stages.

Thanks Mind

Darn...immortality is mathematically impossible new research finds, still it won’t let me down. Near or semi-immortality is long enough. Still I can’t find the equation that immortality is impossible yet. If someone can find it for me?

https://www.downtoea...rch-finds-58983

In the same article “A study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has stated, through a mathematical equation, that it is impossible to stop ageing in multicellular organisms, which include humans, bringing the immortality debate to a possible end.”

Lucky you immortality jellyfish. Still I can’t find the mathematical equation and without it I can’t trust it. Most of the articles are in magazines that are akin to the onion, still I could be wrong. But without the mathematical equation , in question , I remain untrustworthy of it.

Edit: don’t forget if you do research on-line or from a book to cite it so the Immortality FAQ is seen as professional.

I still can’t find the equation, so I’m just going to say there is no such thing. It doesn’t it exist, and it’s a fake news article of some kind, misinformation perhaps?

The existence of the immortal jellyfish is a practical disproof of that study. The jellyfish is a multicellular organism.

Excellent work seivtcho!

I’m religious ( Christian , Muslim, Mormon, etc. ) and doesn’t immortality go against my religion?

Quick answer that I wil have to fill out. I’m going to fill out all my questions with a short answer, and you may to, and then will can fill it out with more research. I’m the one going to try the most research, but seivcho is doing good, smart man you are.

My short and answer is :

Ironically all major religions provide people with a way not to fear death, because they provide some sort of afterlife that lasts forever, so therefore why fear death. It’s been told that Jesus and other religious figures are seen as ‘father’ figures, so maybe it’s time to grow up and figure your own life out, decide what you what to do in your life by trying many things, I suggest reading Origin of Species, it will blow your mind and most likely change it, unless you miss the point. Sorry to be blunt, but for humans to progress we have to be truthful to advance as a species.

It's easy to see human level AI is on its way > www.openAI.com, and that we are machines. We have cough/ sweat/ etc reflexes, rewards for pain/ pleasure (so to survive or clone), etc. If one looks up how a markov chain works, and how it gets better when eats more data (probability of words that follow 'we went too' are 'far' : 10% follows, 'deep' : 5% follows....long....and so on), and looks up embeds (learns related words based on context), it gives you an eye into how these AIs work.

AGIs will be able to repair/ copy themselves, so yes immortality is possible. Such AI robot 'could' have 10 of every memory/ neuron, so if one fails in New York, 9 other are around Earth. Same for its brain systems. Every computation checks all 10 computations to see the majority vote and repair the error ones like the others. And 1 memory dead still doesn't kill you. It would work wirelessly. The size and redundancy provides reliability...

A quotes section, for example positive quotes about immortality. Here is one by Abraham Lincoln ;

Abraham Lincoln Quotes:
Surely God would not have created such a being as man, with an ability to grasp the infinite, to exist only for a day! No, no, man was made for immortality. ( Thus could go in the religions section perhaps )

See if you can find more and get the readers of the immortality FAQ uplifted and persuasive to immortality.

URGENT PROBLEM TO OUR FAQ : “ENTROPY”

Which I know nothing about, but would like to actually. I read the wiki page on entropy and found it way fascinating. I need someone versed in physics. Anyone out there? This mathematician is a creationist which I am not I have read Origin of Spiecies so I’m not that stupid, but this gutting being a creationist makes me question his answer. Still he could be righ despite his creationists beliefs. Have a look at this :

https://www.askamath...f-the-universe/

New question : Does the 2nd law of thermodynamics imply that everything must eventually die, regardless of the ultimate fate of the universe?

By the way can someone answer me this what’s the difference between a law and a theory? I know Origin of Species is a theory and therefore absolutely true. I mean theory as a science term by the way not the everyday use by average people. It will always be true that’s how science works. But is a law just as solid as a theory?

Thanks

Update to the faq :

IThis FAQ will be free to all. Immortality FAQ is just a temporary name, or in the end I may keep it. This FAQ will be a way too give noobs great factual , but with a positive slant on the subject of immortality.

We want people to be open to the idea of immortality ,this is goal of this FAQ.

The Everlasting Immortality FAQ (Temporary Note : why the word Everlasting? Well, for now it means since a person will be immortal so will the FAQ. The FAQ will grow with the immortal person and there for new questions and answers will arise.)

Stephen Tobin
and
co-author
Danail Angelou ( temporary none: this isn’t worded correctly, need proofreader to make this more “neat” and “compact” , those are the words that come to mind for the entire FAQ “neat and compact”.

- An Introduction to the Fascinating Subject of Immortality - ( note: not sure whether to keep this or not, I just think it will draw people in with its enthusiasm. )

In those green-pastured mountains
of Fotta-fa-Zee
Everyone feels fine
at a hundred and three
‘cause the air they breathe
is potassium-free
and because they chew nuts
from the Tutt-a-Tutt Tree.
This gives Strength to their teeth,
it gives length to theit hair,
and they live without doctors,
with nary a care.*

[This is an Immortality FAQ which will answer all your questions on immortality. ]

Does the 2nd law of thermodynamics imply that everything must eventually die, regardless of the ultimate fate of the universe?

We are very sorry we do not have an answer to that question for you yet, but remember we are constantly doing research on that subject so we can answer it for you at a future time. However, we still can discuss and debate the question on longevity.org.

There are many great, popular skeptics of immortality, most notably Michael Shermer and Stephen Cave. Are they right that immortality is impossible?

I too am a skeptic and it is possible for other skeptics to be wrong believe it or not. ( temporary note : more to come reading Stephen Caves book to try to extract an answer from it if I can. Also Michael Shermers book on utopias and immortality which he thinks are impossible, once again a popular skeptic is very wrong! And I can prove that these very popular skeptics, mostly Michael Shermer, he has his own magazine and is the world most popular Skeptic, but can the world’s most popular skeptic and near-genius be wrong? You damn right he can be. He has been proven wrong by a small majority like me, but he has been wrong on several occasions nevertheless.)

Can a person be immortal?

Cryonics holds out the hope that the dead can be revived in the future, following sufficient medical advancements. While, as shown with creatures such as hydra and Planarian worms, it is indeed possible for a creature to be biologically immortal, it is not known, and therefore possible to be immortal, for humans in the near-future.* ( note: I changed the wording a bit to this article to sound more pro-immortality but it’s still the same wiki article and I think still holds true)

*Immortality Wikipedia

Note:Scientists expect the universe will end, which puts an immediate dampener on a mystery about the potential for human immortality. Some scientists have speculated about surviving the death of the universe, as science journalist John Horgan reported for Scientific American, but it's “unlikely” that any humans alive today will experience the universe's demise anyway. *livescience.com

What if I told you as a teacher, in the beginning of your education ( say fifth or sixth grade ), that all of you in this classroom could live forever. Would you be excited or afraid? ( I want the kids to smile and think it’s an interesting topic to think about and study )

Will life insurance cover Cryonics, and how does that work?

[+Maybe include a philosophical question about "immortality".

True physical "immortality" is impossible, just as it is impossible to count to infinity. Immortality is a concept (like infinity). It is a concept worth contemplating and exploring as a limit, while lifespans increase. Once aging is a treatable condition and if mind uploading becomes a reality, then people will be "functionally" immortal, but not truly immortal.]

Aubade

BY PHILIP LARKIN
I work all day, and get half-drunk at night.
Waking at four to soundless dark, I stare.
In time the curtain-edges will grow light.
Till then I see what’s really always there:
Unresting death, a whole day nearer now,
Making all thought impossible but how
And where and when I shall myself die.
Arid interrogation: yet the dread
Of dying, and being dead,
Flashes afresh to hold and horrify.

The mind blanks at the glare. Not in remorse
—The good not done, the love not given, time
Torn off unused—nor wretchedly because
An only life can take so long to climb
Clear of its wrong beginnings, and may never;
But at the total emptiness for ever,
The sure extinction that we travel to
And shall be lost in always. Not to be here,
Not to be anywhere,
And soon; nothing more terrible, nothing more true.

This is a special way of being afraid
No trick dispels. Religion used to try,
That vast moth-eaten musical brocade
Created to pretend we never die,
And specious stuff that says No rational being
Can fear a thing it will not feel, not seeing
That this is what we fear—no sight, no sound,
No touch or taste or smell, nothing to think with,
Nothing to love or link with,
The anaesthetic from which none come round.

And so it stays just on the edge of vision,
A small unfocused blur, a standing chill
That slows each impulse down to indecision.
Most things may never happen: this one will,
And realisation of it rages out
In furnace-fear when we are caught without
People or drink. Courage is no good:
It means not scaring others. Being brave
Lets no one off the grave.
Death is no different whined at than withstood.

Slowly light strengthens, and the room takes shape.
It stands plain as a wardrobe, what we know,
Have always known, know that we can’t escape,
Yet can’t accept. One side will have to go.
Meanwhile telephones crouch, getting ready to ring
In locked-up offices, and all the uncaring
Intricate rented world begins to rouse.
The sky is white as clay, with no sun.
Work has to be done.
Postmen like doctors go from house to house.

Put the Dr.Suess poem at the top of your webpage after you write about adobe ( I think you misspelled it ) put them in bold letters for now at least.

Secondly, put the answers in regular type and the questions in bold, let’s see how that looks on your webpage.

Try it, I think it will come out nice . It’s how I’m going to do it in the PDF. If that’s what Nick Bostrom used, did he use PDF or .doc? Looks like PDF. Everyone uses PDF, so might as well make it PDF.

I'm being honest, it's the right thing to do is to educate. Actually, I'm also saying it is 10% weird, because it's hard to convince others and I don't know how many people are seeing your FAQ

We are working on how many people are seeing it, we are still in early stages.

seivtcho : I think you should take the website down temporarily until we get all the kinks out. Don’t get me wrong I think it’s brilliant, but there is some things I want to get in there before we go live.

Btw why do you want to create this into a book? It’s possible, but a lot of hard work. Would you not be happy with a Transhumanist FAQ type pamphlet or novella?

Also you seem to deleted some interesting stuff you wrote about my faq, put it back up I wasn’t able to stop reading it, it was quick brilliant.

Best
