Grape Seed Extract PCC1 Extends Lifespan | Video Review By Modern Healthspan:

Article video based on here:

In order to use this one, in mice, the needed blood level is 3.75 μg ml−1 GSE,at which time a plateau of 20% senescent cell survival was reached.  So, in theory we could do the same with humans.  I am not good at calculating mice/human dosages though, anyone else good at that?

I also do not yet see procyanidin C1 for sale at any of the usual vendors, so maybe in the next year or so.

They also injected the mice, so oral bioavailability is also a question.
I do a fisetin senolytic treatment every three months.  I may add a few hundred milligrams of GSE until there’s more studies and or clarification.

I don't think any of the grape seed supplements you can buy on line or at the store has PCC1 in them so I dont think yo are gettng that benefit from them . I hope someone here can prove me wrong .

according ot this study most grape seeds only have trace amounts of PCC1 in them

Thanks for that link to Phenol Explorer. I searched for cocoa from the "Ivory Coast" becasuse that has the greatest amount of PCC1 and found this organic Ivory Coast cocoa product that is sold in Trader Joes here in the US.

It is often out-of-stock so you may not find it in your local store. I bought it for a higher price on eBay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/174770790337

Then I started some research on how much to take to acheive my goal of using it as a senolytic. I found that the recent article listed above from the journal Nature Metabolisim last December, seemed very complete.

It states that at lower doses PCC1 suppresses the SASP secreted by senecent cells. This occurs at a concentration (in a Petri dish) of 0.1875 μg ml−1 . To acheive this concentration in a 70 kg human would require about 13 mg of PCC1 at 100% absorption. The amount in this cacao is about 40% so at least 33 mg would be required to be eaten. This is obviously easy to exceed when eating chocolate, however I have no idea what the absorption rate is. BTW, this product has no sugar so is not pleasant to eat without combining it with something sweet like maybe vanilla ice cream.

Then they start talking about how much it takes to start killing off the senecent cells. They stated:

"Although higher concentrations caused a lower survival rate of senescent cells, with a threshold approximately at 200 μM, PCC1 only exhibited toxicity toward control cells when used at 600 μM or higher."

So now they are talking about micro-moles and I am now lost. Can someone out there relate 200 uM to a dosage for a 70kg human.  I tried but came up with ridiculous numbers like 12,000 grams.

I did find that the molar weight of PCC1 is 866.8 so that should help.

Thanks.
