Another fav is Lutein, zeaxanthin

Between Icariin, Lutein, Centella Asiatica, 7,8, DHF and Polygala I feel all the bases are covered. All of these are easily attainable, safe, cheap/dose, bioavailable (sublingual in the case of DHF, Polygala, enteric coated or sublingual for Centella Asiatica). I find Luteolin, DHF stimulating. Icariin, Centella, Polygala sedating so I take them in the evening.

Something I would like to do more homework on is food for growing/multiplying nerve cells. I think the happy stack is a good starting place, combined with glucose or even better short chain fatty acids. Short chain fatty acids are amazing especially when they originate from your gut nomming on resistant starches. I like taking inulin in the evening, it's sedating and great for sleep.

It's amazing how many compounds that promote growth factors are found naturally in plant foods. Eating plant based might be the first thing someone should do when optimising their brain hardware. And then not forgetting that amazing hardware is nothing without software to take advantage of it. Go socialise, play a sport, read a book, learn something new, in everything you do practise consciously.
