I take pure vitamin C powder. you could be having an reaction to one of the filler ingredients in the supplement. If it is a capsule made of gelatin it can cause upset stomach.

@kurdishfella is the source Ascorbic Acid? Can you link to the one you’re taking or mention the brand?

Pure Ascorbic acid powder (usually 99,9%) all comes from China (with the exception from the company DSM, non-GMO, but very expensive). So there isn't any difference in brands, when it comes to pure powder. Usually from €13,- a kilo.
If also any pure Ascorbic acid powder taken in a glass of water is also causing you acid reflux, try pure Sodium ascorbate powder instead, which is pH neutral. Or make it much more cheaply your self, by mixing up to half the weight of Ascorbic acid powder with Sodium bicarbonate powder in water.
Any other Ascorbate might work, like Magnesium-, Potassium- etc. ascorbate.
