Forums are still a functional way for people to discuss ideas/science/interests but younger demographics don't seem to have the attention span to construct a few sentences to make a point or explain an idea. Unfortunately, the visual social media of today is devoid of depth or context. It is mainly produced to keep people entertained for fleeting moments throughout the day.

the younger generation is not a monolithic group, individuals within this demographic
are interested in and capable of engaging in deeper, more complex discussions;
visual social media platforms may not always provide the same depth of
discussion as forums, they can still be valuable tools for sharing information...

That is true. It is unfair to paint with a broad brush. Suffice it to say, I have a harder time getting good information or stimulating discussion about cryonics, or much else, from younger generations. They share a lot of funny memes with me, though.

I think a lot of people have been using Reddit instead of forums, due to it being convenient for everything to be in one place with one login, plus the network effect. Unfortunately, Reddit showed recently that convenience comes with a huge downside. I really hope people will start moving back to forums.
Other people use Discord and Facebook, which is unfortunate since neither one is indexed by search engines. And Facebook has the same "enshittification" issues that have been causing Reddit to go downhill.
I have been subscribed to this cryonics sub-forum, but my email notifications may have expired due to a lack of activity here.

Actually, linking information for a business providing many different services is easier than management. Brands need a loyal customer base to ensure the best development. There is no depth or context in today's visual social media. It is mostly created to pass the time during the day while entertaining people.
