Coffee, the "let's pretend" drug

Coffee

 

The drug that helps us  Pretend the following

 

-Pretend to be more alert

-Pretend to have more energy

-Pretend to be more focused

-Pretend to have greater exercise gains

-Pretend to have better cognition

-Pretend to extend our exercise duration

 

Pretend, pretend pretend

 

BUT

 

What is not pretend!

 

-Causes Anxiety for those with enzyme deficiencies.

-Causes Draining of the subcutaneous facial fluid layers 

-Is a pretty extreme Diuretic. 

-Not great for those already under weight as it causes you to piss out all fluids

-Depletes minerals due to the above mentioned diuretic properties.

 

Yup, that's the real take on Coffee yo! 

 

I am now without it for about a month and feeling much calmer and more balanced. And the energy I have is natural not artificial.

That's great that you feel better without coffee.

 

That is an interesting take about "pretending", and true in some ways, however, there are many ways through which people derive "energy" and "alertness", some of which are more positive than others. I don't think coffee is a "bad" stimulant. There are many worse ones.

 

Studies on coffee consumption throughout the years have found no effect on mortality or age related diseases. One of the latest studies even included people who drank up to 25 cups a day! Black coffee is just a plant extract.

 

The "dressed-up" commercial coffee with unbelievably high amounts of sugar is probably bad for long term health.

I can only speak for myself but my face always looked drained on coffee. Especially while fasting.

 

Now my skin is back to looking fresh, plump and lifted.

 

I also think enzymatic reactions have to do with the variations of how we all process caffeine and how fast it fatigues our adrenals.

I can only speak for myself ..

 

Same here. I simply feel or look absolutely no different if I drink my cup of coffee regularly in the morning, or not even one for months.

Enzymes.

 

And the question is, why have it then?

 

Just for taste?

 

I was genetically granted some weak ass caffeine metabolism enzymes which is probably linked to other stimulants like MJ causing anxiety too. Different receptors, same genetics.

TheFountain, I have also had positive effects when I have discontinued coffee, and all other sources of caffeine. I have better energy throughout the day. I never noticed other changes.

One reason is certainly aquired taste. An other is that I try to get a high variety of phytonutrients not only from supplements, but daily food too. From organically grown coffee or cocoa beans are a few of them.

 

However, other than when young, a cup of coffee before sleep can cause disruption of my sleep now, and therefore i do avoid. And generally only drink one big cup in the morning.

 

So there is a slight stimulating effect for me, but nothing anxiety-like, and not neccesary for getting on the go.

 

I did experience angina-like chest pains with mental or physical stress, which in my case is completely ameliated with CoQ10 above 150 mg/d. More than one cup of strong coffee might bring that purely physical pain for me too.

 

the poison is in the dose
