I am seeing a strange pattern on my EEG.

https://docs.google....it?usp=drivesdk

What does it show? I have been asked if I have epilepsy, am sleeping and if I have brain damage in one side of the brain.

Hi, the data appears to be low quality with many unexplained zero values (0). It also has only a single decimal value "Opti Index" for each day's measurement.

There is no way to re-construct an EEG map (image) based on the spreadsheet.

Their website depicts complex 3D rotating graphics of the brain with hotspots of activity color coded.

This seems a bit deceiving, as an EEG is inherently imprecise in terms of location. It can tell you when activity is happening, but not where. Not as accurately as more invasive forms of monitoring.

If the only reported value from this is a single "opti index" number, I would be very skeptical. What does this number tell you? How much information is lost behind the scenes?

Not saying they are a scam, but I would need to know more about the measurement equipment and what the calculations mean.

There are other ways to gauge brain performance. Self-rated questionnaires, talk therapy, levels of life satisfaction and motivation, brain fog, or addiction. These are all providing more practical feedback in terms of predicting neurosis and/or healthy energy levels than an EEG would likely do.

If you have the cash to try this one out, it seems to have more sensors. It would involve moving your hair aside and gelling sensors down in several spots.

Can't speak to the specifics, because I haven't tried either. But it looks to collect more detailed, accurate information than the Opti hardware.

You could do a search here for open studies involving EEG results. Professional equipment tends to be more accurate.

You can also search for more invasive brain imaging/monitoring technique terms: MRI, PET scan, DTI.

As for your spreadsheet, you may just need to export it in a more detailed mode or somehow export all the data. Because it's not possible to visualize with just a single value for each date. And with a lot of those being zero, it makes the data seem even lower quality.

What was the strange pattern? How does it suggest you have epilepsy? Where are you seeing this?

You have to scroll sideways to view all the data.

okay. Can this be loaded into an android app or something on a website?

What's unusual about your data in particular? Is there activity or connections that would suggest epilepsy?

Why do you ask?

There are no bands, only average values.

because to an outsider it's not immediately clear how to make sense of the data. It appears to be color-coded. Can it be loaded into a tool for visualizing or summarizing?

there appear to be averages for the bands? I see theta, delta, etc wavelengths. But again I'm not sure what to do with the spreadsheet
