A recent beach outing prompted me to research sunscreens. I now understand UVA, UVB, and how to handle them.

 

UVB, basis of SPF and UV index, causes sunburn and skin cancer, mostly dangerous in summer outside, around noon on clear days.

 

UVA, basis of PA+, causes tanning and skin aging, dangerous all-day, all year, behind windows and not, sunny or cloudy.
