NAD+ is basically a form of energy that the various repair mechanisms consume to do their job. But NAD+ doesn't know where to go.
It's up to the cells to determine how and when NAD+ is used.
I think resveratrol seems to do something beyond that, it seems to signal cells to enter a deeper state of repair.
Therefore, the combination of an activator like resveratrol and NAD+ precursors seems to me to be a more interesting strategy.
 
Perhaps resveratrol creates a small, harmless cellular stress that acts as a signal.
Caloric restriction also stresses, signals, and invites cells to enter a more intense and deeper state of repair. Some NAD+ precursor can be taken just before starting CR.
