In this interview, the person says that there has been a confusion in the peptide community about Epithalon. People were going off of the dosage for the Pineal Glnad Extract and applying that dose to the peptide.
In reality, he says, the discoverer of Epithalon says that you should use extremely small doses, as in 0.1 mg per day.

Has anyone ever heard of any such thing?

The paper where the inventor used epitalon to activate telomerase in human fibrblasts used 0.05ug/ml (1). Ages ago, I did a back of the fag packet calculation that said I'd need to take 2mg subQ to get that, assuming equal distribution of epitalon across all liquid in the body.

The problem is, there was 1 more research paper on epitalon from the same guy [2], then he did some experiments in giving it to people (it did increase telomere length): it was here (3), but now I can't find it. But I do remember they gave them 100ug intra muscular injections. So the 0.1 mg figure does check out.

But I've seen no proper dosage studies. We don't know if too much of a good thing is bad. Bill Andrews also claims epitalon doesn't activate telomerase (at RNA level). So, it might be a purely antioxidant action. But I've seen no further work on either side of the argument.

We just don't know. It is very frustrating.

thanks a lot QuestforLife

Do I recall correctly that you had used it yourself and had experienced some telomere lengthening? Kind of remember you reporting such an effect

If ı am right, can you re-state what the dosing protocol was?

Again, thanks so much for seeing this and taking the time to respond

Yes, I did get longer telomeres from doing (amongst other things) epitalon.

I should mention I don't believe epitalon activates the telomerase gene at all!

My theory: https://www.longecit...-26#entry915113

Recent confirmation: https://www.longecit...-26#entry915113

But that doesn't mean epitalon can't give you longer telomeres, as it increases the assembly of the telomerase protein from any (small amount of) telomerase RNA that may already be present in the cell.

In terms of dosage I've injected 1mg subQ every other day for either 5 or 10 days. It is an open question how often you should use epitalon. The origbinal studies were only once a year or even less. But given its mechanism of action is upregulating assembly of telomerase in the nucleolus via various other proteins like nucleolin, you could argue completely different rationales. I'd perhaps argue a single injection once a week might be better.
