This was a study published in Nature Magazine, February, 2024. https://www.nhlbi.ni...rt-disease-risk

What do you think this means for those of us that supplement with NR? It is a different form of vitamin B3. Niacin generally causes flushing, which is an indication of inflammation. NR does not cause flushing.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

It appears that the cohort were people who were already suffering from cardiac problems/heart damage. That might make a difference in the end results. Otherwise, I can't access the full paper, so not much else to say.

On the one hand, niacin is known to be safe and beneficial for health, through decades of study

On the other hand, it is used for "heart health" because it lowers cholesterol, however, the cholesterol theory of heart disease is not clear/proven.
