I had met Tim during one of my visits to the CR Society meetings around 2015 or so. Sorry to hear of his passing.

I don't know who filled his shoes as the web master for the CR Society site.

Sept 15, 2023: I recently learned of Tim's passing and offer my condolences to his family. Tom was the webmaster for the Calorie Restriction Society for over two decades. Though I had infrequent contact with Tim, and then only by phone, I knew him to be honest, level headed and dependable. He was a valuable asset to the nonprofit organization and is already sorely missed. Rest in peace my trusted friend.

What was Tim's old email? I need the old webmaster's email when contacting invisionboard support to help maintain the forum's continuity.

  • What if I let my license expire?

Standard: If we host your community and your license expires, your community will no longer be online until the invoice is brought up-to-date. Please reach out to us if you need help accessing the invoice.

Self-hosted: If you host your community and your license expires, your community will no longer have access to our support forums or software updates. In the event something breaks, or a critical security/platform update is issued, your invoice must be paid prior to you re-gaining entry into the support community or getting access to updates.

Please keep your license active to remain in good standing and protect your community.

https://invisioncomm...expires-really/

Does anyone know how to pay the invoice? They still host for roughly a month after invoice expires but it has been one month and we still haven't gotten transfer of ownership. The archives were truly truly valuable goddamnit, I'll pay for the new year

I read and occasionally contributed to conversations on the site for I believe 20 years. Nobody knows what happened to it? This is really odd.

I've been wondering the same thing Gordo. If anyone happens to know, an update would be great. I wonder if Dean Pomerleau knows anything.

When did it came back for a little while again, and then back down?

Can someone please push Brian Delaney on this issue? He said he would look into it, but has been pounded again and again and has kept delaying (from december, then to early march, then I don't know when)

The domain expires April 15, which makes this especially urgent. The invisionforum might still be alive even when the domain is not.

When it was available I captured the nslookup and now I used hosts file to enter the ip addresses resolved previously. Perhaps sni for tls makes it work - despite I am talking to the cloudflare’s endpoint close to me while asking for www.crsociety.org 2 I am served correctly and can access the forums, except the authoritative dns all other things are working.

But this is definitely is not the way to go for the most of the users. The problem is with these authoritative dns servers, they are not responding with dns service right now, perhaps something is not ok with them. Unless somebody will either make them work or the owner re-register and reconfigure the name resolution configuration of the domain things will not work normally - cloudflare’s resolver wants to have an authoritative answer before it will also resolve it (a dns proxy service of cf).

It is easy to cross-check what I mean with dns - use dig @1.1.1.1 or a tool @ https://freedns.afra... 1
For the cf’s endpoint close to the user maybe any other cf’-served site (there is a plethora of them) could be resolved and pasted to local hosts file

Br,
Igor

I will contact some people familiar with the situation and see if we can bring it back in some form or another.

Yes please do, at least make sure the invisionforum still remains alive.

Btw, Brian Delaney's email is Brian@brianmdelaney.org [will remove this when situation becomes less urgent]

There might be some discussion that we could hand over control of crsociety.org to longecity.org?
