Founded in 1976, Cryonics Institute (CI) is one of the two most enduring cryonics organizations that still operate. Based in Michigan, CI is a not-for-profit organization that has, along with the Alcor Foundation, been a leader in cryonics. With a background in firefighting and emergency medical response, Dennis Kowalski, President of CI, explains CI’s unique, low-cost approach to cryonics. Max More, Biostasis Technologies’ Director of Communications, asks Dennis about the origins of his involvement in cryonics, his background before becoming CI’s president, how CI keeps its costs so low, and how additional services such as standby are becoming more important to its membership.
