Another topic researched. Another discovery that I wasted years of my life for negligible benefit.

I took a closer look at calorie restriction research, and here’s what I found:

  • Animal vs. Human Studies: While lab animals show benefits and extended lifespan, wild animals don’t.
  • BMI and Longevity: Cutting calories won't help if your BMI is between 18 and 27. Beyond 27.5, the risk of early death rises by 27% per 5 BMI points.
  • Small Changes Matter: Losing just 11 lbs (5 kg) can reduce premature death risk by 15%.
  • Exercise Wins: Fitness cuts the risk of early death by 30-50%, more effective than calorie restriction.
