Gentlemen, please take a listen to this. I guarantee that you will find this fascinating. This researcher has been working on a veeeery small molecule (only 5 amino acids long) that allows the body to extend the telomeres of immune cells by way of telomere-containing vesicles and he says this extends telomeres at a rate that is roughly 20 times as quick and effective as the telomerase enzyme.

According to him, this rejuvenation of immune cells results in rejuvenation of the entire organism but more importantly, the same mechanism to extend telomeres is (very likely) applicable to all cells in the body.

And let me repeat; this is only 5 amino acids long and should thus be very easy to produce.... oh and one more thing: the therapeutic window is very broad he says. One can inject 200 times the required dose with no ill effects.

Quest; Sir please comment. Grrrrazie

I have not watched the whole thing yet, but some initial comments:

I commented on a pre-print of his telomere trasnfer paper back on 2020, it obviously had trouble getting through peer review given the 2 year delay to full publication:

https://www.longecit...-11#entry899161

This is not the same as putting telomeres or telomerase in an exosome for distribution throughout the body, which is something we have discussed elsewhere in my thread, but it is a specific mechanism whereby supporting immune cells can donate telomeres to those T-cells about to undergo replication.

He seems woefully ignorant on some basics of telomerase function,  9:55 stating telomerase cannot elongate the shortest telomeres, and even suggesting telomerase can drive cells to senescence by 'pushing them to divide'.

His other paper: https://www.research...n_T_lymphocytes

is a pre-print and looks at using a small molecule to distrupt sestrin interactions to reset some T cells to a more stem like state. Telomerase was not affected.

So this might be something to help the immune system, but no panacea for body wide ageing.

Thanks a lot as always Quest,

He says something two things

-" the elongation of telomeres through vesicles is 20x as effective as what happens through telomerase."  of course this statement is too broad to interpret because over the lifetime of a cell vesicle transfer may happen once a decade versus constant activation of the telomerase. But I still wanted to see what you thought about  this

- also what is your present stance on elongating telomeres through telomeres throughout the body (as opposed to specifically in immune cells).

By 'more effective' this just means you add a longer chunk of telomere in one go via exosome as opposed to manufacturing it via protein using telomerase.

But in his case it is an exosome transfer of telomere from immune cell to immune cell in certain circumstances so not suitable for general body wide anti aging.

that is what I also understood

Still a major benefit if they can deliver as promised
