My prayers have been answered! Ok well that's too exaggerated, but in a sense I feel that the world needs something like this to wake us to realize we are all in this together. It may not be World War 3 that wipes most of the population but an outside threat. The technology to protect from / move the course of an asteroid like this is already there to my knowledge, so no need to shit your pants just yet.

What do you guys think of the possibility of this type of cosmic calamity? Is it enough to shake the world to new humanity or will the fear lead to even more chaotic human behvior?
