Great video as always. From the mice data in the Di Francesco 2024 paper, I find it fascinating that three of groups really held onto their body weight well including 1 day of fasting, 2 days of fasting, and 20% CR. It really is only the 40% CR group that has a huge decrease in body weight.

If memory serves me correctly from the video you filmed it with that author, the outcomes for mice were best for those who had the various dietary intervention applied AND who were able to maintain their weight (relatively speaking) at the same time. I've tried explaining this to my wife that this is a good thing as she engages in significant CR but holds onto weight nicely at the same time. She's probably at 25% CR while I'm at maybe 12.5% CR and yet my BMI is less than hers.

Fascinating thoughts on the cancer cachexia phenotype. I suspect if those age related changes are resisted that the phenotype would be delayed, or in some cases avoided altogether.
