Can anyone recommend a good priced Oxaloacetate supplement with Europe?
At the moment it looks like I may have to go for this - ) http://www.amazon.co...ds=oxaloacetate) which is very expensive if i plan to take it long term.

This paper just came out describing how oxaloacetate ends up activating SIRT1 and PGC1a, among other targets, in neurons.

So maybe we're beginning to get a clue as to why it seems to mimic caloric restriction and enhance brain function to some extent.

I was surprised to find that this 2014 paper has escaped our attention, based on Longecity's internal search.
"Oxaloacetate Activates Brain Mitochondrial Biogenesis, Enhances the Insulin Pathway, Reduces Inflammation, and Stimulates Neurogenesis"
"OAA lowered NFκB nucleus-to-cytoplasm ratios and CCL11 mRNA. Hippocampal VEGF mRNA, doublecortin mRNA, doublecortin protein, doublecortin-positive neuron counts, and neurite length increased in OAA-treated mice. " The doublecortin finding is particularly interesting because Wiki says it's involved in differentiation of new neurons: "Neuronal precursor cells begin to express [doublecortin] while actively dividing, and their neuronal daughter cells continue to express DCX for 2–3 weeks as the cells mature into neurons."

i'm Curious why oxaloacetate isn't much more popular. I've taken Benagene since the last month and i'm accumulating the benefits since. i seam to have recovered the energy i thought was fading because of aging. when i read on benagene and raising nad+ levels i thought that this would simply improve my overall health and anti-aging prevention but i've never expected that this would have such a cognition enhancement aspect to it. i realise that improving mitochondria's health can explain the addditional energy i feel and thus can also explain brain fog lift, but nothing to this magnitude.
Reading the Nicotinic riboside threads makes me think Oxaloacetate raises NAD+ more efficiently, Some people talked about tendonitis while using NR.
Has anybody tried both and can you offer a comparaison ?
