I recently ordered some from a different manufacturer than usual. These new pills don't look anything like what I'm used to. Granted, a product can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but something looks off here. They're kind of lumpy looking with yellow spots that resemble what happens to vitamin B when it oxidizes. The yellow spots are not all over the pill evenly, they're in an irregular pattern and tend to be on the indented part of the lumps. Also, some of the coating is peeling on a few of the pills which reveals that they are white inside. The glucosamine/chondroitin that I've gotten any other time before was smooth and fairly even colored. Also, in my experience, speckles and things like that, when they are normal, are evenly distributed, not irregular.
The rep at the manufacturer had never seen these pills before (nobody in the office had) but told me that it sounded fine and that there's variation in color between the pills but like I said, they just don't look right to me. When we were discussing vitamin B the rep also said that oxidation didn't mean that vitamins were going bad. [huh]
So, anyone know what these generally look like in solid tablet form?
