Talk your doctor into a prescription and choose the Provigil brand at your local pharmacy. Depending on your insurance, you may be able to convince them to cover it (unlikely, but possible). There are a number of off-label uses of modafinil that a doctor can legitimately use for prescription. You don't have to be a narcoleptic and go through a sleep study to get it.

Alternative answer, purchase the modafinil prodrug, Adrafinil (brand name Olmifon), from overseas and take that instead. 300mg adrafinil has about the same effect as 100mg modafinil with a slower start. Big difference: you can import a 90 day supply (11 or 12 boxes assuming a narcoleptic treatment dose of 6/day) for yourself and the US government doesn't get in a twist as long as you don't sell it to your friends (tell them to import their own).

Here's the thing. Modafinil is a Schedule 4 Controlled Substance. That's some seriously bad juju if you're caught buying it without a prescription or selling it at all. Do I think it should be a controlled substance? Hell no. But they didn't ask me. So except for the friendly drug dealer at your local rave who will probably have some for big bucks and moderately high risk, you're going to have to go legit or go for Adrafinil.

For Modafinil within the US (don't try to import), drugstore.com is legit (second-hand info, I've never personally used them, but my grandparents do):

You can get adrafinil pretty easily I use smart drugs for thought but its kinda expensive, also nootropic depot has the powder pretty cheap- i have never used them but they have good feedback. I am just worried about long term use with liver damage. The adra is great but I would also love some mod I am just worried about customs, let me know what you end up doing I am interested.

I had to work part time because I was so tired. Eventually I had to stop altogether. Now I buy modafinil and my life has changed . I am a cab driver able to do airport runs thinking clearly and never tired. I don't take it every day just 100mg or half a tab before driving. I can do all my paperwork now and am enjoying life.

If you mean quality generic version, then it is impossible to buy within USA, only from India. The highest quality brand is modalert by SunPharma.

Personally I’ve gone off modafinil because I think it has long term issues with sleep deficit and consequent impact on mood. I used to get it from this site though and can vouch for the quality as it was shipped and made from the U.K.

Charles...is this pharmacy legit? I've never tried modafanil but want to give provigil a go. Do they give you without script and ship to America? Is it provigil or generic from india/china?

I just replied on the other thread regarding Indian quality v Provigil.

As for Evopharmacy.com, they ship EU made brand name Provigil (they mentioned in an email they don’t sell unlicensed medicines such as Indian modafinil).

FWIW, they ship from the UK to the USA. I got next day delivery using their express shipping method - if you’re gonna get Provigil now I’d suggest going with that cos from experience when buying from ecommerce retailers, even amazon, regular mail shipments seem to get delayed tbis time of year (weather and Xmas rush I assume).

Never asked me for a script.
