We have different objectives.

Geron wants to inhibit it, to help fight cancer. But my issue with that, is that you may prevent the natural telomerase that happens when you start getting sick and your immune system kicks in. You immune system will naturally start this activity to help fight off the invaders.

So you may slow down, maybe stop a cancer by inhibiting telomerase , but you may also cripple your immune system while doing it and need to live in a bubble for a while.

I am sure if Geron would have produced an immortal cells using this method, even in a pre-cancerous cell, it would have been big news. It's my understanding that Geron has failed to produce immortal cells using this method.
