We have had a truly amazing response from a stream of new donors both inside and out of the sphere of the H+ community to the $25k matching challenges of Michael Coooper and Doug Arends... both have been drawn down completely before their deadlines... simply stunning... I never would have expected it!

Ryan Scott, a visionary and highly successful silicon valley entrepreneur has come forward to eclipse these challenges with $100,000!!! Tripling donations until the end of this year, or whenever it runs out, which at the current rate will be long before the deadline! I suspect we may get another matching challenge that will quadruple or quintuple one's donation before Ryan's is exhausted.

What a great way to start the New Year!

The "longevity meme" is gaining traction and reaching beyond the regular enclaves here on the net into the minds of many (of influence) and the simple message of using technology to repair accumulating damage is intuitive and being understood. We still have a long way to go, but to our donors and supporters, THANK YOU! for sharing in this transformation. You have already made a difference.

Best in the New Year!

Geez, that's awesome.

Interesting that people are funding the research much more aggressively than the prize. I think the matching donations really help, but people might also like to see (near) immediate use of their money.

Great news to kick off 2008 with. I have a feeling 2008 will be a very generous year for members of the life-extension community. If these silicon valley guys are slowly starting to see the light, it won't be too long before they chat about their pledges to fellow wealthy peers, and interest increases, very exciting!

yay for people with a lot of extra income who support transhumanist issues, that will benefit all in the end... people who realize their birth sets them on a race --80 or so years to find a way not to die.... (not that the trip isn't a bunch of fun, but since we've doubled it in the past few thousand years--I expect we can figure out how to lengthen it further :) )

Cool! I'm glad to see that both matching pledges were fully utilized.

I'm one of those people who can't access the MPrize website (I live in Nova Scotia, Canada). Are donations to the research pool still being matched with a 200% increase?

I can't open the link :) It doesn't work for me.

How much is left in the matching pool?

Edit: oop, I guess the link works where I am now. It doesn't work from my more regular computer, though.
