I know that I've already registered as AaronCW, but as my laptop can't handle the load and I was finally able to install it on a more suitable computer I am re-registering (if that's possible) as AaronCW. Please send me a PM if there's something else I need to do or know. Thanks!

...I've already registered as AaronCW, ...and I was finally able to install it on a more suitable computer

You may install, or reinstall F@H on as many computers as you have available, using the same username.

Be certain the username is *exactly the same*.

Stanford computers consider the slightest modification in a username to be a different user.

Their policy does not allow correction after-the-fact.

I am re-registering (if that's possible) as AaronCW.

Thank you.

Once registered in this thread, re-registration is not necessary.

Re-registration would be necessary if you purposely, or accidentally, changed your username.

Thus, Life Extension Foundation requires a first name, last name, address, zip code, and email from each competitor who would like to receive their prizes. This information will be collected by the Executive Director of Imminst.org and forwarded to LEF at the end of the 3rd quarter competition.

Putz

I realized that this username Putz was already in use by someone else one a different team. So I have probably been donating anonymously up until now because of that name duplication.

Anyways, I am now using MadPutz

Thanks Putz.

Be sure you have the team number as 32461, probably similar to the image here.

Thanks for registering, fizzionz.

...my quad core will only use 1 core on the folding@home program.

If you wish, you can run four regular clients.

Near the end of this post are a few tips on installing multiple clients.

i am looking into changing over to Linux. any way i can get my xp 64 to run all 4 cores? ...

For maximum points per day, Use the SMP client with Linux OS. SMP client requires at least two CPU cores to be present. You could run one SMP client utilizing all four cores of your CPU (in Windows or Linux).

Follow the links in How to Install F@H to find the SMP client, or other clients.

Another option is to run two instances of Linux as guests in VMware virtual machines running under Windows as host.

This would accommodate two SMP clients running simultaneously (2 cores per client).

If you have questions post in another thread or start a new one. Will try to help.

ok, got it running mint. but i am wondering. will my quad core @ 2.5ghz crunch more data then if i use the GPU client with my asus GeForce 7600 GS? im pretty sure the GPU has 512 mb ram.

allthough the quad core has access to the max that xp will allow. i have 4 gb ram but only 3.something is used. and the folding @home doesnt use anywhere near that. im running at 93% cpu speed with like 840mb ram used.

so yeah. will the gpu preform better then the quad core?
