Looks very young right? Below photo he was 23 years old

Actually I would have guessed Ralph Macchio was his age but he does have a boyish quality to him. However I think that's due to his bone structure, voice, demeanor, etc..

In the YouTube video Matt posted which was from BBC comparing the two middle aged men, the one whom was doing CR looked so much better/younger. Of course I don't think vanity is what drives people to practice CR.

I think I do look my age because I've seen myself change over the last decade. I have eaten a lot of sugar and poor quality food throughout my life and I had innumberable severe sunburns in childhood. The only consistently healthy things I've done in life is exercise since early teen years and drink a lot of water. Very inconsistently, I've taken a lot of supplements since early adulthood. However, people ask me if I'm in college, if I live with my parents, if I just graduated. I used to wonder why people assumed I was some loser living with my parents or why they thought I went to school instead of work. (I'm 36.) The last couple of times I just asked and they said they thought I was in my early 20s and other people tell me that's why people ask me. All I can say is people are very poor at determining age. I think an immature sounding voice and other factors subconsciously influence a person's perception of what a person looks like to them. Maybe in a couple of years people will be adding a decade to me instead.

I think ralph machio looks mid to late 30s. Definitely not as bad as most 47 year olds. I don't know where you get that he looks his age. You people definitely overestimate your own ability at guessing. Of course you already knew his age, thus very convenient for you to have stated you'd know it.

Especially if he dyed that little bit of grey out of his hair and colmed it down. But it's still obvious he hasn't been taking care of his skin as far as sun protection goes, but he still looks in his mid/late 30s.

If he had probably taken more care of his skin and avoiding sun exposure then probably would have done far better. In this video he was 28 . He was 28 years old when he did karate kid 3. When I was younger I just assumed he was in his teens. It also seemed like he actually grew taller after his first movie, but he was already 23 then =/

My post said I think people aren't good at determining age in general. I'm a person so obviously I'm included in my description of people.

Anyway, Ralph has some sagging, puffy eyes and a dull complexion. He looks like a better version of late 40s than most of his peers , but imo it's still a late 40s look. It's similar to how some younger people look a lot older, but somehow you could still tell they're in their early 20s even though a lot of them are already wrinkling and experiencing other issues.

Actually the comparison from BBC with the two middle-aged men, I thought the one on CR looked much younger in terms of his body but his face still showed his age imho, except it had less sagging because he didn't have excess weight. No matter how long people can stall looking older everyone ends up in the same place so I wouldn't take this topic too seriously.

The reason why in the pictures these people look younger than they are is because... they have no hair on their faces. When guys get older they usually naturally get the beard and mustache, and some get it sooner than others. I knew guys in high school who shaved just about every day. It could be that in your genes you just won't get that facial hair like most do. When I was younger I didn't have much facial hair, other than my stache, and I looked younger for it. When I was in my early 30's I was told by a teenager I could pass for someone in their teens. But now I'm in my 40's and the facial hair is thicker so it doesn't work any more. The hair gives it away.

In the video you mentioned about the two middle-aged men the skin-care specialist actually thought the guy was 35, so I hardly think your opinion is unbiased (or overrules the dermatologists!). I think you are looking to see peoples ages in their faces, thus finding it, maybe to make yourself feel better about your own age or something. I think its absurd to say the two men in that video look to be the same ages when one clearly looks older than the other. Besides lack of facial fat usually makes people look older, not younger. As far as ralph Macchio goes, I agree that his skin is damaged but I don't agree he looks older than, say, 37. Lots of people in their mid/late 30s accrue the same degree of sun damage. I've seen 35 year olds one could mistake for 45. etc

I read someone once say Jared Leto looks close to 40. Are you kidding me? And of course the person was well aware of his age prior to making the statement. Anyone i've ever known who didn't know his age first thought he was in his 20s, usually early to mid 20s. Point of fact is people need to look at things objectively and not as per their own estimations of their ability to guess someones age. It's foolish and such people are in the minority with regard to their 'opinions'. Same thing with Andy Milonakis. The guy looks 15, period, the end..Stop lying to yourselves..There is such a thing as objective truth that overrides subjectivity.

Yes, this thread looks like it's becoming dependent on whether the people the posters know in their 30s and 40s have good or bad genes in regards to a youthful apppearance. I'd like to point out I think Fountain is in contact with the poor gene pool. (I'm sure he'll reply.)

Actually I think environmental factors play a pretty big role in this. I don't think someone like Jared leto simply has 'good genes'. He is a known health nut who exercises regularly and has been a long time holistic vegetarian since his late teens. Believe it or not most guys his age couldn't care less about health nor beauty. In fact most guys have been indoctrinated not to care about their appearance any more than to just shave their facial hair/head hair and go about their mcconalds eating business. As already indicated by someone who said Leto looks feminine. The latter is obviously because we as a society are conditioned to associate beauty with femininity. Men aren't allowed to look pretty in this world lest they be considered gay or feminine....

However, as pointed out elsewhere my generation of females is increasingly more attracted to pretty boys. Hence why Leto has such a huge female fanbase (despite the fact that most of the girls who are attracted to him are my fellow generation Y'ers). And again it is always men who assume such men gay or feminized, women 'sense' otherwise.

Yes I think it is safe for us to assume that the opinions of young girls is more valid than that of 40 something year old men in this regard. I swear the only people I have ever heard say he looked his age were guys in their 40s on this web site. Someone's biased...

Well, to me it is the fact that I'm over 40 and he looks only slightly older than me.

So can you pinpoint ANY signs by which you judge his age as that? Because facial ageing is pretty "simple" thing, made of a few variables I mentioned (which he doesn't have).

p.s. - so you look like 23?
