Apparently Michael had the telomere length of a 2year old boy. Hence why he beat david and just about everyone else on there. David also says that his telomere length is that of an average 38 year old. He only began CR at around 31-32 apparently. Plus Telomere don't telll you much about how long a person is going to live. There can be as much as 30x difference and subjects can die around same age anyway. It's not a reliable test, and maybe its more to do with the rate of shortening rather than the initial length when tested.

There is also a study here indicating higher vitamin D3 results in longer telomeres

Does it mean I should keep drinking milk? :-D

You should stop drinking milk, but not specifically for that reason.

AGEs content resulting from lactose accumulation would be the reason you might stop drinking milk.

Gives a better idea of where I started and how I am years after starting CR.

SAME hair style now so a better comparison shot than my previous one with shorter hair, and its brighter. 18 years old on the left and 24 years 4 months old on the right.

Wow! you look like a kid!
Huge cute eyes and narrow face and chin..
Did you ever hit male puberty? :D

Thanks :-D Well yeh I did make it to puberty eventually lol.

I went to work today and had some odd comments... Supervisor at work asked me was I wearing foundation or something, then a few other girls also commented too (then we got into a discussion about men using cosmetic products). I was like err no i'm not lol... Not sure exactly what has changed for them to think this. I only added a bunch of skin creams over a month ago, and increased my lutein, lycopene and beta carotene intakes lately... eating so well lately. Skin does feel incredibly hydrated and smooth though too. hmm..

There is nothing wrong with men wearing make up? I think our generation should champion this Idea rather than shy away from it.

i agree that jared leto does look considerably younger than his age, but i maintain he looks quite effeminate. someone else mentioned that as well and i think it is due not only to his thin frame, but his facial features.

a masculine look is generally thought to be one with a square jaw, defined brow ridges, muscular, facial hair, etc.
http://www.livescien...l_features.html

so while leto looks young and may indeed have a great deal of female fans - probably in large measure due to his eyes and i would guess facial symmetry - i don't think that is a great measuring stick for a "masculine" look in the least. though i don't think the rugged, alpha-male image has ever been what he has sought so it's all good for him.

I think that is a disjointed estimation of what masculine means. No less sexist than saying that being feminine means pacifistic and quiet. I also do not see the feminine symmetry in Jared letos face. I don't think most females have as prominent a jawline as he does, as if they did they might look masculine themselves. I also doubt many hot young females mistake him for a woman, especially when their hormones are reacting to his image. If perfect facial symmetry is what is associated with feminine features then 90% of hollywood actors could be considered such.

i agree that facial symmetry is not a feminine attribute. though it is a little hard for me to distinguish symmetrical vs. asymmetrical faces (at least consciously), i think that is generally regarded as universally (men and women) attractive. my point is that leto's eyes and facial symmetry are probably what makes him attractive to women, and not an overly masculine, testosterone-heavy vibe.

Both males/femals find facial symmetry preferable in mates. Square jaws are considered more masculine and softer, rounder features are considered feminine. When looking for a short term partner women are attracted to men with masculine features but for someone to have children with they are attracted to men with more feminine features. Both men and women found women with masculine features such as a square jaw more attractive and assumed they were more open to casual sex. This is from a study.

my interest in this topic has grown over the past few weeks. at first, i didn't know what to think of it... a bunch of guys talking about how young they look and want to look seemed queer and pointless, especially since most of the best girls i've known have gone for guys older than themselves (and these guys looked their age). then again, i think it is a relevant topic because how old you look is likely a good indicator of your biological age. with CR we see that the animals who are younger inside also look younger on the outside. take a look at anti-ageing guru elixxir:
Posted Image

He's over 50 but looks at least 20 years younger. CR definitely works...

There are exceptions to this rule, for example, some people just have more mature features. the actor daniel craig for example has always looked about 35 even when he was 20.

As for good celebrity examples, I think Eminem looks very young for his age. I found this photo in a gallery of photos taken when he was young (so i'm guessing he was around 20 when it was taken)

Posted Image
Now he's 36 and doesn't look much different:

For some reason I can't see his youthful looks being a result of CR or vegetarianism.

Hi to all,
I'm looking at this very interesting forum.
It's the second time I see this guy, can I ask if somebody has a video or even better has met him?
Because today with makeup and photoshop I'm sure I can produce a picture of my grandfather who looks 25 :|o

There is no video of him anywhere, and i'm not sure if anyone here has met him, but I believe Brian Delaney (CR Society) has seen him in real life.

If this is his genuine, real life appearance, then I would say he could pass for 28 with the grey dyed from his hair. If it is photoshop, well that is something else entirely...

Higher res shots here

http://elixxirprogra...rpicsideway.jpg

and

http://elixxirprogra..._2ndfrontal.jpg

no grey hair... he does have blur on the pictures though (you can zoom in). Although that tweak can help hide some blemishes, it doesn'tmake someone look a lot younger than they are. If I look just as young or younger than him at 52, I would be writing some more books and selling my image and lifestyle all over the place. He's obviously trying, not sure hes done that well getting into the mainstream... so maybe hes a fake? Has anyone here read thehe ImmorTalist Manifesto: Stay Young & Save the World by him?

i think he is genuine, if you look at his website you'll see endorsements from life extension magazine and others. but his "elixxir program" is nothing short of a complete scam...99 dollars for basically 2 lines of information that are repeated throughout the book (eat less, digest your food, etc). there is so much better information available free online about CR, Elixxir's book is insulting.

BTW, dehook, you talked about why guys would like to look young. I think it's just a good feeling to look young (and there are plenty of women who prefers that over an "older" look, especially if you are mature personality, what's associated with that older looks most often..). When you look young - you don't look tired, worn down, you actualy project a "healthy genes" image to the subconsciousness of other people around you. It's a win-win, I can understand very well why anyone would like to look young forever, but I can't imagine a person who says - eh, I want to get sagging face, wrinkles, damaged skin, tired face expression.. It's just against all that we are preaching here lol.. I guess the way you look is connected with the way you perceive yourself to some extent, actualy it's a curse when person is young in his mind and his looks depresses him everytime he looks in the mirror. That's why we want to eliminate aging, it's not shallow, it's not vain, it's just the same degeneration of your organism, which shows in the way you look.

i completely understand why some people would want to avoid wrinkles, damaged skin, etc, and look youthful forever, it's more the "i want to look 20 at 70" mentality that i see as pointless, unless you want to infiltrate teenage parties when you're past it...but each to their own

maybe i differ from most people on this forum in that i don't care as much about looking young as i do being able to achieve everything i could ever want from this earth before moving on (due to boredom, not failing health). getting back to my original post, i went on the longevinex website today and saw that there's a new version of it that aims to address the physical signs of ageing...bill sardi makes a good point, that since the body is not just comprised of cells, looking young isn't always an indicator that all is young inside.

Well yeah, it depends on a person. I'm in a "youth" industry so to say, so it's natural for me to want to look young "forever". Actually 20yo looks with 70yo wisdom... I'd give everything for that.

I looked at the video. It illustrates the commentary on "theories of aging" with a blackboard containing random formulas from theoretical Physics, Einstein's relativity and the theory of angular momentum in quantum mechanics, completely irrelevant of course to the subject, not even remotely related to what people in longevity research are doing. How the hell am I then supposed to believe anything this guy says?

It is worth watching for the cute little mole rats, though!

Are you talking about the overmineralization theory that he puts forward, or the concept that looking young on the outside doesn't always correspond with biological youthfullness because the body is not just comprised of cells? I think the overmineralization theory should be studied more closely, as he says, what other theory can explain why we age at three different speeds (the important factor being the slight decline in the rate of aging late in life) Bill Sardi doesn't have a scientific background, but he seems to keep up to do his research.

The Jared Leto everyone keeps talking about here is NOT attractive. No man should ever aspire to look like that, at any age.

Matt- I think you could be a really good looking guy. You just need to age about 10 years and gain some weight and muscle. Yes you look young, as in you haven't hit puberty yet young. You look like you need a sandwich. Since you're doing this to yourself on purpose, that's a real shame.

Someone had to say it.

I doubt you will convince the millions of females worldwide who find him very attractive of your perspective on his looks.

This is an incredibly stupid thread and pollutes the skin health section. I'm ashamed to be replying in it.

That stated, I feel called upon to correct the misconception that some of you have regarding Eminem's appearance. Let me tell you, he looks like a wreck. He looks as if for the last few years he has been out of the public eye for the sole purpose that his drug schedule not be interrupted.

Look at how much collagen his face has lost, look how it droops. He only looks young because he is wearing child's clothing and has heavy set features that can poke out through his sagging skin.

Here is a better perspective, watch this video. He looks about 25 in this interview. I do agree he looks bad in that other picture, but he just looks like a 25 year old anorexic on drugs. I've seen anorexic 25 year olds with similar gaunt faces.
