This pic looks exactly like the fake I was sent last year from Visapharmacy.com

They ended up being breath mints, lol...

Mine aren't breath mints. I've tried taking another small dosage only to encounter another bout with anxiety. No more, i'm flushing these.

My two sents.
I have tried two brands of modafinil - Alertec and Modalert. They affect me like different substances, even from side effects perspective.
Alertec gives me sleep deprivation (that's what I take it for), very subtle stimulation, sour eyes, sour throat, and some pain in the neck. Actually it's not as bad as it sounds :) Side effects are rather weak...
Modalert is surpisingly MUCH SPEEDIER (more stimulation, almost hard to distract from the task), and I've never had pain it the neck from it, and "sourness" thing is somewhat weaker. On the whole Modalert seems stronger (not a bad thing), but I can't help wondering if it is really Modafinil...

I have been a fairly long time modafinil user and I have ordered from a variety of sources. Not by choice they keep evaporating on me. I just got some modafinil from nubrain, took 4 days to get to me which I still cant friggin believe. Every other place was 2 weeks or more. Anyhow, Mine looked just like the picture you posted and it came in a box. I know what modafinil does and I can attest that it is the real deal. You even get the strange urine smell from the metabolization of it. The only thing I can say bad is it does seem a little weaker than the stuff I used to get from india. Might just be me tho. As far as the anxiety feeling I got that before and one thing I can suggest to you is never ever ever take modafinil and drink coffee or any other stimulant even soda with caffeine. When I first took it I drank a cup of starbucks and my heart nearly lept out of my chest. If your getting high anxiety your taking too much or your taking another stimulant more than likely.

The anxiety could be a reaction isolated to the individual, any stimulant has the potential to cause anxiety if you're susceptible. I have taken 200mg modafinil along with multiple other stimulant compounds and have never experience anxiety, although it has made me restless before. But I am one of those people who just doesn't seem to suffer with anxiety regardless of what I take or what situation I'm in. On the contrary I'm usually overly relaxed and so often don't pay attention to things that I should.

I bought modalert tablets from UnitedPharmacies as well. I don't really notice an improvement in terms of mental capacity. My neck muscles stiffen up a bit though! Does anyone know if you can get Provigil in the UK from "Chemist Direct"? It seems like you can go through checkout without a perscription...is this true?

Unsleepable. If you have medical insurance get your Dr to prescribe Provigil for narcolepsy. That is an FDA accepted use of the drug and your insurance will likely cover it. It works wonders for me, but the use is off label and my insurance company refuses.

Silly American thinking that their laws and 'standard' of living is applicable to the rest of the world. FDA is US only, and you don't need health insurance.

Thanks for the reply...
I currently live in the UK and bought them off http://www.unitedpharmacies.co.uk/ but if anyone has reliable UK sources i'm all ears.
I looked around for a while and seemed like mostly positive review ..but yea I agree there is a risk of buying medication online which is why i'm attempting to get prescribed provgil.

Has anyone else tried modalert and similar experiences? i'm still wondering about the taste too. Also I should probably mention that I also have a mild form of bipolar called cyclothymia which possibly could have had an effect on how i felt.

This is slightly off topic but also does anyone know what tests would be run to determine the contents of a pill. I am a chemistry undergraduate so maybe could perform some basic analytical tests i.e. NMR, IR etc

Im an undergraduate in Chemistry myself and to make sure of the purity of your supplements simply use ChemDraw or the Sigma Aldrich website to draw the structure of your molecules and it gives you the NMR spectra, so you can simply put your products trough NMR or simply in a HPLC and there should be nothing except a single peak . I work in a research lab in medicinal chemistry and was thinking of testing my piracetam....NMR spectra dont lie.

Didn't u say you were going to test modalert to put the "is it as good as normal modafinil" discussion to bed, or i might have mixed you up with someone else?

Sun pharma is the shit!
The reason it is half priced is because its generic!!!AND it is made in India, where cost for manufacture/etc is much lower.
I ve tried Modvigil from hab pharma and it totally sucks.not as good as sun

Yes, modalert and waklert (armodafinil from sun pharma) works as it should work. There are always some people who says it's fake but there are also people who say the real provigil/nuvigil doesn't do shit.... Buy from a trusted retailer, and you are good to go.

Maybe you are taking too much: Some studies, like the one below, show a U shaped response curve:

Abstract
In rats, modafinil, an alpha1 adrenergic receptor dependent, that has been shown to increase wakefulness without subsequent rebound effect, decreases feeding and reduces body weight. However, modafinil does not show a monotonic dose-related decrease in food intake. The dose-response curve for modafinil is U-shaped; feeding decreases after doses of 20 and 40 mg/kg, but no effects were seen after doses of 10 and 80 mg/kg. When feeding is resumed, no compensatory effect is seen, and body weight remains lower during the 24-h session. The drinking-to-feeding ratio remains unchanged, showing that modafinil has no effect on water intake. These results are discussed with reference to the possible mechanisms underlying the relation between sleep, feeding, and metabolism.

Nih study

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I just thought I'd add a bit of subjective anecdotal experience...

I've used Alertec principally for several years but moved to Modalert in about June of this year simply because sourcing it was so expensive compared to Modalert. For the last few weeks I have been taking 1.5 pills of Modalert 200 (so nominally 300mg) in the morning, Monday-Friday at about 7am. Today I tried 2 Alertec (Shire) at the same time, so nominally 200mg.

The difference feels to me like the 200mg of Alertec feels more motivational as it comes on, stronger in the effect of giving focus, but harsher (I guess more brain-foggy) for a certain limited period of time (perhaps an hour or two) at around 3pm/4pm. The Modalert feels like I'm putting more 'stuff' through my system (perhaps that's psychological but I got a nosebleed the first day I moved from 200mg to 300mg as it kicked in), but didn't lock in the focus as much, and I haven't typically gone through a noticeable brain foggy period with Modalert.

Indicates to me that perhaps Modalert isn't as effective in terms of 'focus lock' per mg as Alertec, perhaps due to some subtly different compositon. I'm going to try 200mg Modalert tomorrow and see how that feels, and perhaps try 400mg Modalert on Monday and see how *that* feels. I'll try to remember to report back if anyone is interested.

bought modalert from save on pills. The package and pills are exactly as descibed here as real. It did not act as expected almost like a short lived energy drink. I can sleep soon after taking actually makes me tired and wired at the sametime, overall a bad feeling worse than caffine.I tried for 3 days no change. Tried the suggested on a full stomach on an empty stomach and dissolved in water. I think most internet posters who like modalert are either 1 working for the online pharms 2 getting a different product than I got or 3 very easily fooled...For all those who said drop in water... I looked up official fda drug info for provigil on drugs .com "Modafinil is a white to off-white, crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water and cyclohexane" I dropped one in water and it disappeared in 10 seconds. For all those convinced that if urine smells then you got a real product mine smelled. I was tired and pissed off i paid money for smelly urine!! I am trying brand name provigil soon let u know

Hey Kamikaze I too bought what I thought (and still think) was Sun Pharmaceutical Modalert from Save On Pills. My experience - over a 2 month period - was similar to yours ...except I never noticed that my urine smelled any differently than normal. My BIG MISTAKE was watching the film LIMITLESS with Bradley Cooper, and then finding a blog article by some London journalist that made Modafinil seem similar to the experimental cognitive enhancement drug in LIMITLESS. I now believe that the blog was total fiction, and if I could get my arms around the idiot I'd kick him to China.

I have 40 years history of experimentation with stimulants (and I am not talking about caffeine!) To me, the modalert seems to act like a weak, buffered amphetamine. 35 years ago I took 1 biphetamine (black beauty) and raced my more experienced hiker friends to the top of Mount Washington. I reached the summit first. I was tireless until the next day, when I crashed.... (fell fast asleep). When Jean Harris shot Doctor Tarnover to death in Scarsdale New York I argued that she should have pled insanity... after all, she had been taking desoxyn for 10 years in order to stay slim and attractive (she hasd the hots for the diet doctor she worked for...) I knew desoxyn well....

Is everyone who speaks well of Modafinil a pawn of the drug makers? I'm not sure.... Provigil (modafinil made in Pennsylvania USA) costs $800 for 1 month supply. Medicaide Doctors are forbidden to prescibe it for any reason. At least in Connecticut. One month supply of Modalert cost me $135.... Can the $650 dollar difference account for the differences in experience?

If you want some type of energy supplement, buy ephedrine. You can still get the extract of the Ma Huang plant from some USA vitamin supply shops. You can still buy ephedrine HCL (8mp per pill) in Canada. 24 mg of ephedrine hcl, taken 3 times a day, will essentially do everything that Modafinil promises but does not provide. Ephedrine became virtually outlawed in the USA because our political system has become the home of politcal panderers, whores, and influence pedallers. (Also - I am forced to admit - the DEA was concerned that too many Mom and Pop methadrine cooks were using epehedrine as the precursor... so now if you want a package of Sudafed from the local pharmacy you have to show your driver's license....

But I digress!

Listen, there are a couple of well written articles on the internet by people who claim to have taken both Modalert and Provigil and who claim that both drugs gave them similar experiences to yours... one woman theorizes that maybe you HAVE TO HAVE NARCOLEPSY to experience the full potential of the drug (she does). As long as the results are so ambiguous, I suggest we move on to the next best thing... whatever that may be!

I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and must take an "artificial" means of energy. It seems that my own body and brain does not produce energy anymore. (Yes, I had all tests and blood work done). I have had good experiences with Modalert Modafinil. I started off slow to minimize any side effects. Began with 1/4 tablet (50 mg.) and felt a bit weird (this is usual for me when taking meds for the first time - brain and body need to adjust). Next day took a 1/2 tablet (100 mg.) and felt a bit of an unfamiliar energy, but nothing very bad or ill. Third day took half tablet in early a.m., then other half at noon and felt near normal with energy level and concentration. It does take some time to accelerate throughout the day, so patience is a must. At this dose I was only feeling 70% better.

Recently upped my dose to a 200 mg. tablet in the morning only and I am good to go for the rest of the day and night. Of course I still need that 3:00 p.m. boost of caffeine and protein snack, but the Modafinil has worked great for me. This dose works best for me. Individual trial and error dosage is best for each of us. Some advice: Take a 1 or 2 day break per week from taking Modafinil. Take with food, it may cause nausea on empty stomach. Also, do not take past 1 or 2:00 in the afternoon - it may keep you awake at night. Sleep is not a problem when taken early in the a.m. up until noon, even at the 200 mg. dose. Healthy people who want to just enhance their attention, alertness and energy should take the lowest possible dose to see how it goes....and use it only as needed. This is a medication and will not make you high, so don't waste your time. Best of health to all.

Modiodal is an effective drug when it comes to increasing alertness and concentration but you should not overdose. May be your body would take time to respond to it but take prescribed doses, taking doctors opinion would be a good idea. You can also purchase the medicine online from The Mexican Pharma at much reasonable prices lower than the market rates.

I have had good results with modafinil from India also. I was quoted a price of 1.50 per tab free shipping. I will check the Mexican Pharma,

Mine came in foil blister packs 12 pack of ten tabs. They say modafiinil tablets 200mg USP, and also say modalert from Sun pharma. I have a prescription but it is not necessary to buy it or have it arrive in the us of more and more and moreNOWDAMMIT. India customs bounced my last order and he is reshipping. Don't know much  to expect.

This person has asked me to help people find him and if you PM me I'll give your his contact info and let him know I sent you. But I repeat things are a little up in the air right not. Also I don't get a commission or anything I'm just glad to help him stay in business so I can continue getting it, This stuff is way smoother that adderal but more in your face than deprenyl. Aparently it's allowed in by our customs for personal use. I only say aparently because no govt. thugs showed up to hassle me. I am quite amazed they allow it in. The Mexican link was a dead end. They never heard of modafinil or modalert, there are many other names but I figured the puritan thugs sent them some threats of villification and horror. That's about all it takes with biddniss people. They have too much to loose. I'm disapointed because of the recent aforementioned delays in India. I'll post back as soon as I hear something.

This stuff just seems to work fine for me and it's better not to take it every day. It's mostly just awakeness with sometimes, a nano amount of zippidy do dah if you skip a day or two.

BTW  I have authority problems so I don't see people from the govt. as having my best interest at hart. Their only interest is the status quo and more of everything. Progress is not sustainable in a finite petri dish. This nation is like a voracious unstoppable virus where this planet is concerened.

I've had a not so great experience with Modalert obtained from Nubrain. I've tried varying doses from 100mg in the morning to another 100mg later in the day, 200mg in the morning only, and 50mg in the morning only, etc., and i've experienced nothing but extreme anxiety with no increase in alertness nor have I been able to stay up longer than normal.

I'm not sure if it is a side effect of the modafinil, or if it was a bad batch from Nubrain, but for now I am too weary to experiment further. The anxiety is just way too intense. Maybe......just maybe, in a couple of weeks I will try a tiny dose of <25mg to make sure that I am not hypersensitive or something, then flush the rest of the pills.

I've attached two pictures of the product received from Nubrain, both sides and up close. You can make out the "Sun Pharmaceutical Industries" logo on the package as well as the obvious "Modalert" branding. I've seen pictures of Modalert before and for some reason my package looks different. Shrug.

I have had good results from that same source sun pharma same packaging. I still use it. I find it to be disapointing in the euphoric area which is sometimes mentioned in experience threads. There is a little of that but not much. But if my source hasn't dried up I get for 1.50 per 200mg tab.

Everyone is biochemically different but Having tried adderall on 20mg tab, modfinil is much smoother and less in your face. But as you discovered it delivers on the awake part. I generally take @2 or three in the pm because I practice till 2 or three in the am. So that timing works well for me. If you are not used to ingesting substances and acessing  the result give a little time. But you are paying to much

Hey

I have been using Modafinil for 2 years now. I have been very lucky so far when ordering. I actually wrote a review of my experience buying modafinil online: http://www.alexforti...nal-experience/

Let me know what you think :)

Cheers!

Hey guys would need some help

I have been taking modalert for a few days now and it is working really poorly. 1st day i felt awesome on 50 mg, all the brain fog was gone, i could concentrate, music sounded much better and i had a lot of energy but i believe it could have been a placebo effect. The days after i felt little to no difference at all but the side effects got worse. I had extreme headaches(have migraine) and got diarrhea and also felt more tired when on it. The brain fog got worse and i tend to space out a lot more than earlier and i just felt off. I have tried a lot of different doses but never over 100 mg in one day. i have tried splitting it up, eating multivitamin and a lot of eggs to get more choline (the headaches disappeared). It has been 9 days since i got them and i have been taking in total 400 mg during these days, sometimes nothing and sometimes very small doses. I have much more brain fog than before the modalert and have problems getting out of bed in the morning and my eyelids always feel tired and heavy. The modalert i have is the real ones and not some fake ones from what i have seen and heard on the internet and this forum.

Hey Sweden. I've been doing business with a company from India that has "cat" in it's website name. I've dealt with them for about a year. I buy the Modalert 200 brand and it comes in a foil package in which 1 side is seemingly identical to the photo pictured  2 posts  above yours. The other side contains a lot of very tiny print and bar codes and, in larger print, says: Modafinil Tablets USP and under that a blue bar with Modalert 200 written in silver (foil).

Earlier this year I thought that I had been ripped off because I took a pill and fell asleep and felt no energy at all from it. The next day I took one and it was all good. I know that I have developed a tolerance because I use the stuff almost every day, and the effects are not what they were in the beginning but still much better than a gallon of coffee! Obviously if I go all night with no sleep the next day's pill is not going to do much to revive me.

I have experienced brain fog but not from either using or not using this product. I am using Androgel for low testosterone. After 2 weeks of use my mind became a lot clearer ... I was able to appreciate my environment and make clear plans and execute them. Prior to the Androgel it was difficult to get anything done or complete things that I had started.

I generally have a good bowel movement an hour after taking the Modalert 200. But I have been using several cups of tea in the early morning for 30 years to "provoke a shit" prior to my shaving, showering and getting dressed for work, so my body is used to this routine. Modalert simply guarantees it!

Oh, I am a 60 year old white male, somewhat overweight, who spends about 8 hours a day in front of his PC. I have a gym membership but lately I've been either too lazy or distracted to go much. I hope to change this soon! I am no doctor, but I hope this might be of some use to you.

According to the forum those pills are fake ones. Mine has much more information and looks like this : http://www.paulnewco...lert-200mg.jpg

I should look into Androgel because it looks promising

I have not taken modalert in a couple of days and i'm feeling better but i have not recovered yet.

This pic looks exactly like the fake I was sent last year from Visapharmacy.com

They ended up being breath mints, lol...

how did you know they were breath mints? good thing not some worse poison/ toxin.

What's the secret to tell fake from non-fake?

Maan. I hope I'm not too late lol. There are so many vendors around. Check here: http://nootropicexpe...odafinil-online or simply google: "buy modafinil". If you are from the US, you can choose ANY vendor.

The best brand available online is Modalert from Sun Pharmaceuticals. For me it works the same way as original Provigil. I placed more than 5 orders at Neo Modafinil. Their prices are top-notch. If you pay with Bitcoins you get additional 20% off. So I get them for just 50 cents /pill which is the best offer I have ever seen.
