+1 ... Fredrik's is a little too hard for me to digest right now (+low on the supplement angle), and like THREE years old now (ancient history)!!! :wacko:


It's the best though, and he weights supplements fairly. It hasn't been updated because, really, there's no need to yet.

Are they due to UV, or to visible (harmless) photons? I think the circadian effects are in the visible, IIRC, though I could be wrong on that. I recently heard a vague reference to light exposure in the eye being (negatively) related to the development of myopia. I don't know if that was visible or UV, but I would guess visible. (only a guess, though.) I'd be interested in knowing if there's any solid evidence for benefits from UV exposure, assuming you're already getting all the vitamin D you need from supplementation.

Anyway, I am now convinced that everything on my original post have marginal effectiveness in looking younger. None of these tips, diets, facial potions, etc come close to the power of Calorie Restriction.

1200 calories / day FTW.


Ya but now a year later your complaining about impotence and a loss of libido.

If you repeatedly pluck your hair off (with an epilator) for several decades, could this cause any permanent damage?

The 30s are a tricky time, you may enter them feeling and looking like you are 23(I sure did), and then suddenly in your late thirties start feeling and looking more and more like your age. I do believe I could have avoided this if I had taken the right precautions. Now, after being spoiled with looking so young for my age and having people always commenting on how young I looked, I am seriously consider getting some fillers in my cheeks bones, under my eyes, and in my nasal labial folds ... I never realized how much looking young got to my head and how much the way I felt was based on looking young and good. Everyone is vain in some way, some are just more prone to the grip of vanity taking hold more than others.

Here's a couple pictures from a few weeks ago. I'm almost 28 now (october 21st). I meet people in real life and they still think I'm a teenager *shrug*. :blush: I went through a massively painful time recently, but I've been improving myself and keeping on top of my health. If anything my skin is better than ever. :)

An epilator? Does that really hurt? Shaving is annoying and irritates the skin. it would awesome if I could stop facial hair growing so fast, Anyway I've changed a few things with my diet lately and also my skin regimen.

Green smoothies which I load with kale and spinach seem to have a noticeable effect on how moisturized / hydrated my skin feels. 

I try to avoid the sun as much as I can. I rarely get sun exposure midday, it's almost always early morning or later in the afternoon and evening in the summer. 

 

I'm now in my 30s, so we'll see what happens! :)

What form do you buy your kale in and where from? Most of the kale I've seen is not something I'd want to eat raw due to the amount of dirt and pesticides on it, whether it's pre-sliced in a bag, or just the raw leaves (which I'm finding increasingly difficult to find).

I just buy it from the local supermarket. Sometimes I buy the Tesco Organic Kale, but mostly it's non-organic. I've never seen dirt on the kale, but I still wash it of course. :)
