Does anyone know how to increase levels of the enzyme catalase naturally? The more I read about this critical enzyme the more I am intrigued about it's life extending possibilities. The consensus is that the CAT supplements are garbage and a waste of money because they do not penetrate the cell.

There is ample published research to indicate that resveratrol upregulates catalase gene activity.

This may be one of the main reasons for its success in protecting mice.

I've been taking Protandin for the last 4 years because studies show it increases catalase, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione

Loss of catalase seems to be responsible for grey/white hair.

I was referring to protandim and I appologise for not making that clear.
All the links that biknut provided are on the from the protandim dot com and we would need independent third party information.

Protandim may indeed work but it's ridiculously expensive for a 30ct bottle. I was hoping there would be a way of just boosting catalase without boosting GSH or SOD. Anyway, it would be a good idea to make a shampoo consiting of catalase. A lotion would also be awsome for those suffering from vitiligo, as it seems a lack of catalase is the pathogenesis of that particular skin condition as well.
