I am studying to take the LSAT. I need to score HIGH on this exam. :/
I want to increase my levels of concentration. I just found out this past week about "smart drugs". I had no clue that they existed until then.
I find it amazing...fazinating. Before I buy, I would like to get as much advice as possible. As I began my research on-line, I came upon this site....and here I am posting.

As some drugs, can Piracetam or Pheynlpiracetam be made in their purest form? Where would I be able to buy it?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

If you want a reliable smart drug to boost concentration for one occasion, I'd suggest buying a packet of nicotine patches. Depending on your body weight, probably 5 mg - 10 mg patch should do the job. I recommend nicotine because it's cheap and effective and there's not a risk of brain fog, as seems to be the case for the racetams. But if you have lots of time to experiment, why not buy both piracetam and phenylpiracetam? I really don't know how soon the LSAT tests you write about will take place.

I advice against using nicotine for long-term performance enhancement, because long-term use tends to lead to the downregulation of neurotransmitter levels, leaving you in worse condition than you started from. As a side bonus, you would get withdrawal symptoms.

Here's some Wikipedia information about nicotine:

When a cigarette is smoked, nicotine-rich blood passes from the lungs to the brain within seven seconds and immediately stimulates the release of many chemical messengers including acetylcholine, norepinephrine, epinephrine, vasopressin, arginine, dopamine, autocrine agents, and beta-endorphin.[30] This release of neurotransmitters and hormones is responsible for most of nicotine's effects. Nicotine appears to enhance concentration[31] and memory due to the increase of acetylcholine. It also appears to enhance alertness due to the increases of acetylcholine and norepinephrine. Arousal is increased by the increase of norepinephrine. Pain is reduced by the increases of acetylcholine and beta-endorphin. Anxiety is reduced by the increase of beta-endorphin. Nicotine also extends the duration of positive effects of dopamine[32] and increases sensitivity in brain reward systems.[33] Most cigarettes (in the smoke inhaled) contain 1 to 3 milligrams of nicotine.[34]

Nicotine is one of the best and most reliable performance enhancers out there, but it doesn't deserve to be included in the nootropic category of drugs because long-term nicotine use is harmful.

Having suggested 5-10 mg nicotine patch, I take my words back. Lower dose may be a better choice for a first-timer (if you are one).

I see. As I wrote, nicotine is reliable, effective and cheap. For me and many other people it has been the best cognitive enhancer we have ever tried, but I'm definitely not using it regularily. CDP choline + fish oil have probably the best combination of effectiveness and safety for me.

As for piracetam, there's like one out of five chance that you'll get consistent positive effect from it and I'm pretty sure phenylpiracetam fares even worse. I'm one of those people who got absolutely no effect piracetam. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, I'm only trying to be helpful.

For discussion on piracetam's long-term effects, check out thread http://www.imminst.o...m...e=show&st=0

PS. forgot to say that welcome to Imminst! It's always great to see new people here. You'll probably find many members who have more interesting things to say than I do ;)

Discussion about retailers should be done in the retailers discussion subforum, but here are my two cents. Hope my message doesn't get removed.

Smartpowders.com = cheap and safe piracetam

Pharmacy1010.com = Asian online drugstore, sells phenylpiracetam, might get problems with customs

Cerebralhealth.com = pramiracetam, piracetam, etc.. Sells racetam-choline source combination products such as Synaptine Zen (choline source is recommended as a sidekick for piracetam and other racetams). Reliable.

Phenylpiracetam is a stimulant like Adderall or Modafinil. The "positive effects" - to the extent that general CNS stimulation can be considered positive - are immediately apparent and quite strong. It wouldn't normally be considered an alternative to Piracetam.

ps-my packages from pharmacy1010 have always shipped from Russia. Never had a customs problem.
